I like to think that your pair of Speks began their journey in a shipping crate of their brethren 14 months ago, but when the others were unloaded, these two stuck to the roof of the metal shipping crate where they went unnoticed. That began a long trip around the country as the other cargo (like fitness trackers, past-expiration candy corn, toothbrushes, and an occasional hidden bag of illicit cannabis) was loaded and unloaded. Finally exhausted from their long trip, the Speks gave up their grip on the ceiling as they arrived at Grapevine, TX. They were promptly rerouted to Indiana but decided to once again cling to the metal truck. You may get them soon, or not, depending on how determined the delivery guy is about separating the box from the delivery vehicle. Don’t be too surprised if they make several return trips to Texas before you get them. Once they arrive, you might want to give them an occasional ride in a metal truck bed just to help them adjust.

It went from Texas to Indiana and back to Texas, as pointed out above. But what about the fact that it went from Indiana to Texas, a 13 hour drive, in under an hour?
Possibly it is using the date from the drop-ship when the manufacturer or importer cut the deal with Meh/Mediocre, long before it went up for sale on Meh. Or the same from Mediocre’s warehouse when Meh/Mediocre received stock.
Interesting way to pervert the end-purchase shipping tracking to measure total inventory time for product, if intentional. That way you don’t have to build a separate system to track Mediocre’s total inventory turnover metrics, especially if the same item gets sold through different sites like Meh and Morningsave.
Just checked the tracking on my order of the same item, and it has the same first entry - 8/8/18 - but a minute earlier.
Mine’s only gone from Carrollton to Grapevine, though, no trip to Indiana and back.
It hasn’t been heard from since arriving in Grapevine on Thurs. the 17th.

Is it possible you live in a part of the country where redistricting is happening and for sake of completeness, town and city names have changed? So what was once Greenwood, IN, is now Grapevine, TX, and what was once Grapevine, TX, is now Carrolton, TX.
