I so want to want this. But my pile-of-shit-that-I-bought-because-hey-why-the-hell-not-maybe-I’ll-need-it-some-day-and-won’t-it-be-great-that-I-was-prescient-enough-to-have-bought-it-already-and-thus-have-it-on-hand-and-at-a-really-good-price-at-that overfloweth.
@shahnm ditto, so I’ve decided to sleep on it; I haven’t abandoned the idea that the “oh hell; just buy it” side of my internal battle might be more persuasive in the morning
Are we able to make snarky remarks about how this entire conference call could have been done via email way more effectively while we think the unit is muted?
@guybrush01 I appreciate your review, it was exactly what I was looking for, thank you! But the comments in response were funny as well, and seemed all in good fun.
@chienfou@guybrush01@therealjrn 1st A• No, you can possess this speaker, but the cell fone, or device, not so much.
2nd A• Yes, you can possess this speaker, just don’t get caught, which is the only law in prison, or on the outside.
3rd A• I plead the 5th.
@stinks, I think George W said, "You Fool me Once, shame on you! Fool me Twice, shame on me! Fool me Three times, we can’t get Fooled again! OR, Fool me Twice, we can’t be Fooled again. Whatever, either way, he screwed the saying up, as usual, which everyone knew he would!!
@therealjrn we have an old pickup truck no bluetooth connectivity of course, will this work in that regards, not for conference calls for reg phone calls while driving?
i bought one last week on meh’s sibling site, morningsave, priced at $35. for $22, i might get another. i often make a conference call from my exam room to a patient’s family - this would work great with my phone.
@docflash we have an old pickup truck no bluetooth connectivity of course, will this work in that regards, not for conference calls for reg phone calls while driving?
@mfladd Yes, this is that, but it has better fidelity. I can hear better with it. I’ve asked people if I sound any better and usually they say, no, you still sound like an asshole.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mfladd, One trick to make the cell phone speakers louder is to stick a syinge, or a needle in the speaker & that will increase the damn loudness, or Fn volume. In case you find this hard to believe, you might find the answer on Google or Wiki Fix.com!! It’s True Though! I did it & now my cell is TOO DAMN LOUD!!
@mfladd With the phone you can have 2, max 3 people and you have to sit really close. That is ok if you are next to a very beautiful someone, but what if not? This thing allows you to have a mobile speaker just like the stationary ones you have in typical con room.
I bit the bullet and bought one. I use the speaker on my cell all the time at work and this might make me feel like I don’t need to talk so loudly. Yes I fell for the slick hype of the meh marketing machine. Hmm never thought about using one of the bunches of Bluetooth speakers at work. Too late…
I bought this before and it didn’t really work. Is this just a piece of shit or do I need to ask for a replacement? I haven’t had enough time to re-test it yet.
I bought one of these last time and overall it was a nice purchase. It seems to perform its intended purpose better than a laptop mic or phone speaker and the battery lasts a long time. I’ve never tried to charge from it but it’s nice to have that option. I’ve used it as a regular bluetooth speaker and it does that pretty well too. The only thing it’s missing is an integral mute button which would be great for conferences.
@rprussell I guess you could. It comes with a snazzy carrying case for portability. It might be a little bulky to find a spot for it, depending on your car.
I also bought this last time. It looks nice, and is metal, the battery lasts a while. It works really well, but I wish it had a mute button on the device. I have another one with a mute button which I use all the time. That is the only downside that I have found. It is best for conference calls / webex and not as a music speaker. I mean I have played music on it, but I have better speakers for that purpose.
Dual microphones so my voice echo can be in heard in stereo. The Bluetooth delay just adds the fun in talking over each other! Together, I can work on my email and never get an action item.
This is a cool looking wallet! Oh, it’s not a wallet? I was friggin’ tired at midnight when I saw this and almost bought it. Six hours of sleep later, I’m still not buying it.
I would like to use this for chatting over Discord. Will it work for that? If I’m also using the speaker part for listening, will there be an echo for the other people in the chat (i.e., will they be able to hear themselves)?
I bought this the last time Meh sold it. The volume options are loud or crazy loud, I have a private office so it’s usually okay for my purposes. But be aware. It will be so loud that any office mates or neighbors will hear everything
@Dheffy22 I’ve tried adjusting this and it appears sound levels attempts to adjust the volume actually do nothing. As you say even 2 or 10 it’s rather loud. Good sound but I would like to be able to adjust it up & down.
We have an old pickup truck no bluetooth connectivity of course, will this work in that regards, not for conference calls for reg phone calls while driving? Anyone that has one know? thx
So this reminded me again to test one more time on the one I bought before. I’m pretty sure it’s indeed defective. It works for a couple seconds and then stops. Anyone else experience this?
Just got mine. The build quality is way nicer than I anticipated. Very impressed by it. Sadly, I have to wait 7-9 hours for it to charge before I can use it
@tonylegrone You only have to wait a few hours for it to charge. I’m still waiting on the delivery. Been 2 weeks since it shipped and still hasn’t made it to Las Vegas yet. Seems like it’s taking a tour of the US.
@tonylegrone meh responded to me that the normal shipping time is 3 weeks and it’s on track to arrive in 3 weeks from mailing. Seems like I get shipments from China faster but it’s meh.
@tonylegrone Tell me about it. I have contacted meh multiple times about it and they just say it’s on track to be delivered on time. It was shipped from Texas on the 5th to Las Vegas and here we are on the 23rd and it says it’s still in California. The tracking list looks like a comedy as the package travels the country.
just got it. looks cool and nice. no idea what to do with it. can i hook it up to my cell? can i use it in the car for hands free? just sits on my table next to the blunt tray. people think i’m a CEO.
Seems like my order is taking a trip around the country. Been in transit for 2 weeks now and still not in my state yet. Never known any carrier to take that long to move a shipment. It’s seriously taking the longest route possible across as many states as it can to get to me here in Las Vegas. Think it’s up in Colorado now.
Verily.
@shahnm ditto, so I’ve decided to sleep on it; I haven’t abandoned the idea that the “oh hell; just buy it” side of my internal battle might be more persuasive in the morning
@rrichmon So who won the battle?!?
If there was Bluetooth in the 70’s… It would be this
@CraigDanger I happen to like the retro look.
Are we able to make snarky remarks about how this entire conference call could have been done via email way more effectively while we think the unit is muted?
Bought 3 of these the last time they were offered… they really do work wonderfully for con calls that you have to attend in open spaces.
@guybrush01 How well does it work for pro calls?
@guybrush01 Are you a lawyer? Talk to a lot of cons do you?
@guybrush01 @therealjrn pretty sure they would be classed as “contraband” in the prison.
@guybrush01 Sounds like people are a little jealous that you’ve achieved the “refers to them as con calls” level in the business game.
@therealjrn Only you! The rest of the time I’m dealing with people from the business side of the company.
@guybrush01 Heh, this is why I don’t comment at all on the forum. I try to offer a real-world review, and this happens. Oh well, whatever.
TL;DR: These work well. Buy one, or not.
@guybrush01 sorry if you feel we “crossed the line”. I think your point was made and understood. The extra comments are just us having a bit of sport…
@guybrush01 I appreciate your review, it was exactly what I was looking for, thank you! But the comments in response were funny as well, and seemed all in good fun.
@guybrush01 I saw all these replies as lighthearted ribbing/joking. -shrug-
@guybrush01 Just throw right back at 'em. This is Meh not one of the other review forums!
@chienfou @guybrush01 @therealjrn 1st A• No, you can possess this speaker, but the cell fone, or device, not so much.

I bought the leather looking one. I use mine a lot for talking with vendors, tenants, and of course, those long calls in to Amazon Customer Service.
I really do like it

@therealjrn we have an old pickup truck no bluetooth connectivity of course, will this work in that regards, not for conference calls for reg phone calls while driving?
@misscee2u Hands-free calls? Sure. I usually dial the number on my phone and it will act as my speaker/microphone
i bought one last week on meh’s sibling site, morningsave, priced at $35. for $22, i might get another. i often make a conference call from my exam room to a patient’s family - this would work great with my phone.
@docflash, are you a physician, Doc? I need some pain meds!!
@docflash we have an old pickup truck no bluetooth connectivity of course, will this work in that regards, not for conference calls for reg phone calls while driving?
But can’t you just put your phone on speaker mode?
I have conference calls all the time and I can’t think of one situation where I would need this.
@mfladd Yes, this is that, but it has better fidelity. I can hear better with it. I’ve asked people if I sound any better and usually they say, no, you still sound like an asshole.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@therealjrn Most of the conference calls I am on I don’t want to hear better anyway. They annoy me.
@mfladd, One trick to make the cell phone speakers louder is to stick a syinge, or a needle in the speaker & that will increase the damn loudness, or Fn volume. Doesn’t about every other bluetooth speaker do the same thing?
@rustyh3 does every bt speaker have a noise cancelling mic, and two of them?
I bought one of these last time and overall it was a nice purchase. It seems to perform its intended purpose better than a laptop mic or phone speaker and the battery lasts a long time. I’ve never tried to charge from it but it’s nice to have that option. I’ve used it as a regular bluetooth speaker and it does that pretty well too. @stazja01 I’ve used it as a power bank. Though, weirdly, it has to be powered on in order for power to come through the USB port.
+1 “Anyone used it a car?”
@rprussell I guess you could. It comes with a snazzy carrying case for portability. It might be a little bulky to find a spot for it, depending on your car.

Is it Braven, Like Raven? Or Braven like Bruh…-van?
@Bumplepimp The important questions
Will it work as just a bluetooth speaker? IE play my music out of it until I get a call?
Anyone try using it for hands free in the car?
@outdoorslife Same question here!
@outdoorslife Yes it works like a normal bluetooth speaker.
@outdoorslife Yes it works like a Bluetooth speaker until you get a call. No, I have not tried it in a car.
This is a cool looking wallet! Oh, it’s not a wallet? I was friggin’ tired at midnight when I saw this and almost bought it. Six hours of sleep later, I’m still not buying it.
If I can still pick any color I want at this time of the morning I’m pretty sure we will see this again, but cheaper. I will wait.
I would like to use this for chatting over Discord. Will it work for that? If I’m also using the speaker part for listening, will there be an echo for the other people in the chat (i.e., will they be able to hear themselves)?
@DeliciousCrepes As long as the device you’re connected to Discord on has Bluetooth you should be good to go. The dual microphones should reduce echo.
@Chronicle All righty, guess I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
Man, I needed one of these when I was gainfully employed. Now? Not so much.
Hows the bluetooth lag on this thing?
So good for calls? Will use for Zoom/Teams/Slack

@Dizavid No, you’re literally the only one who has mentioned this. Did you make sure it is charged?
It has a 90 day meh warranty.
@therealjrn Okay, better contact Meh CS right now then.

@jayman007 Yikes. You should contact Meh about that. Last time I had an order stuck in shipping, they fixed it and it got delivered the next day.
@tonylegrone meh responded to me that the normal shipping time is 3 weeks and it’s on track to arrive in 3 weeks from mailing. Seems like I get shipments from China faster but it’s meh.
@jayman007 3 weeks!? That’s insane. I bought that coffee maker last week and it’s out for delivery today. It shipped on the 19th.
@artk53 It works like any other bluetooth external speaker for your phone. Hands free talking, etc.
Or I guess you can sell it on eBay if you bought it not knowing what it was…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seems like my order is taking a trip around the country. Been in transit for 2 weeks now and still not in my state yet. Never known any carrier to take that long to move a shipment. @jayman007 It’s probably swinging by artk53’s house to get high.
@therealjrn maybe so. Think it’s still in Colorado. Never seen a shipment from Texas take so long. I get stuff shipped from China faster.
@therealjrn nope… Now it’s in California getting high on it’s way from Texas to Nevada.
@jayman007 That’s nutz!
