My husband’s super cold, I’m super hot. I buy a set of heavy flannel sheets and a set of really nice cotton sheets. I’m lucky, my best friend is a seamstress and she takes both sets, cuts them in half and sews them together. So he has a top and bottom flannel sheet and I have a top and bottom cotton sheet. Works for us.

I don’t have experience with any other brands or any electric blankets, but it will be 9 years old this month so I couldn’t be happier with it.
I can only speculate, but I feel like having the heat under your body could provide more consistent comfort. I’d also wager that it flexes less, and less often, than a blanket so the internal wires might actually last longer.
I’ve been told that heated mattress pads void some mattress warranties. What does a mattress warranty do for you? shrug I can say that our mail-order memory foam mattress is doing just fine.
I sleep best at 58 degrees with my shoulders bundled under and my feet in the open. My husband sleeps best with his shoulders bare and his feet bundled under. I need a blanket that’s got polar opposite cutouts.
Typically I ‘preheat’ the bedroom with a space heater for several minutes just before bed, then shut the heater off and climb under my blanket. This gives me enough time to get to sleep comfortably without feeling cold later.
As soon as summer ends, the cats resume their habit of sleeping on me. I’m a stomach sleeper, which makes me perfectly positioned to be cat furniture. There are at least two cats sleeping on me for three out of four seasons.
@ahacksaw One of mine tries to sleep on my hip if I am sleeping on my side. Of course they also use my hip as a launching pad from the floor to the top of the dresser too.
A cold room with a warm blanket is my favorite way to sleep. Fortunately my wife agrees, and doesn’t give me crap for running the air conditioner and bundling up in the summer (though that’s an exceptional case, as it usually gets down to at least the low 60s on all but the hottest nights, and we can use the window fan instead).
I just don’t let the cold bother me. Rarely need more than just one sheet. Don’t even turn the heat on unless the inside temp drops below the high 50s.
unfortunately we don’t have any control over the heat in our apartment (thermostat under literal lock and key, and a few years ago i was told we weren’t to touch the knobs on the radiators either). so right now we don’t have any heat at all as the landlord hasn’t cared to turn it on for the season. i usually put a king size blanket on each half of our bed in addition to the year round comforter, and then i put my electric throw under both and roast for a little while at the start. i turn it off before i totally fall asleep and then at some point in the night it gets too warm and i push all the extra stuff onto my partner.
Bought THIS from meh 4 yrs ago. Works like a charm. Wife depends on me for auxiliary heat… thermostat at 65 overnight in the winter, bumps up to 68 just before we get up. Haven’t yet put up the EcoBee that I bought here recently.

Just steal them from your SO/spouse. Problem solved. The technique is called “doubling down”.

Heated matress pad-it’s adjustable, keeps the old bones from waking me up and lets the old bones move better in the morning.
Heated mattress pad! Our basement bedroom dips below 60 degrees on cold winter nights, but a $40 dual-zone mattress pad (and normal blankets) keeps everything toasty

I have found that a cool bedroom is most conductive to sleep. I have a real down duvet that does a good job of keeping my body heat regulated.
I ain’t paying extra just so my bum ass don’t have to put on skivvies. Blankets for days
