As I get ready to click “Say It” I realize the choices were the three prequels and three sequels, but still…

@00 Solo is my favorite of the movies, Mando is best live action work, but the last seasons of Clone Wars and Rebels beat out anything else. Rebels wins overall, but those last 4 episodes of CW are just such a gut punch in the best of ways.
@simplersimon I agree with this completely and actually started to write something similar, but decided not to because I was falling asleep. The end of Rebels changed the original trilogy profoundly. For the better, I think.
@Zeusandhera Imagine KOTOR remastered about 20 yrs later? But then it would just get bastardized with microtransactions to fit the “new economy.” So maybe better to enjoy the “vintage” experience.
Choosing the best non-OT Star Wars film is like choosing the shiniest turd. Although I think the original Gareth Edwards version of Rogue One would be the most interesting. His vision was “Star Wars meets Apocalypse Now “. Instead, we got a watered down fan service film courtesy of Kathleen Kennedy and the uncreative suits at Disney.

The Force Awakens did some amazing things. It restarted a franchise that we were all super cynical about in a way that if not perfect was at least engaging. In introduced a new trio to replace Han-Luke-Leia and if they let them adventure together they could have been the base for many stories. It introduced a new love story for Finn and Poe that would have added a lot of heart to the upcoming films. It gave a legitimate reason for the Millennium Falcon to continue to be used by our new heroes. It gave us a cool new bad guy in Kylo Ren even if the First Order was kind of trash.
Last Jedi had some interesting ideas about the democratization of the Force but threw away all the potential of Force Awakens. And then the last one was such total garbage that we are back to where we were before Force Awakens.
As much as Duel of the Fates still charges me up, I definitely prefer Solo and Rogue One to any prequel of sequel numbered episode. Solo gets a bit more just because it doesn’t leave me crying in the corner. Wait, no, L3. But at least Solo makes me laugh.
The Last Jedi had some of the best ideas and moments in the entire franchise, but the execution was so all over the place, on top of some dragging and weird plot points. There was a genuine desire to make something new using the fertile soil of the Star Wars universe, but then it ended up plastic grapes by the Rise of Skywalker.
