@daveinwarsh@DrWorm@rtjhnstn No, if its cooked in a casserole it doesn’t earn the name of stuffing. Its sad, it had the potential to be stuffing but came in second place.
But she did sous-vide some turkey for my dad. I have to say, it even beats deep fried, unless you absolutely must have the skin. I’m not big on turkey skin.
The folks that I sit down with to eat it.
The (bread/sage in our case) stuffing (not dressing) with some extra gravy served on top.
@duodec Yes, the stuffing!
@duodec Cornbread and sausage at our house, but yeah, the stuffing (with gravy) is definitely my favorite.
Thanksgiving is my best excuse to eat a full plate of stuffing in the month of November
Stuffing is top of the list, followed by mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and rolls.
After the dishes are done and I collapse on the sofa, saying “Holy shit, I survived!”
Stuffing nor gravy made the list?? Shameful.
One year a brother-in-law looked over the spread still on the table and sighed: “I wish I was hungrier.”
I voted for “dessert”, but I really meant sweet potato casserole. But if you do that right it’s basically dessert.
Stuffing
No guilt for glutony, and the afternoon nap.
Absolutely it’s the pumpkin pie! Stuff is delicious !
My niece does cheesecake from scratch, and it’s great. She’s 15, and has been doing it since she was about 8. I see a bright future ahead of her.
stuffing. and also gravy, the real mvp without whom everything else is just dinner.
Anything that’s not primarily fiber or protein.

@stinks Unexpected Maru!
I will be the one southern person here that says “dressing” instead of stuffing.
@DrWorm The key difference is how it is cooked.
Stuffing is in the bird and dressing is baked in a dish.
@DrWorm @rtjhnstn We usually bake some in the turkey and some in a dish.
It’s still stuffing.
@daveinwarsh @DrWorm @rtjhnstn No, if its cooked in a casserole it doesn’t earn the name of stuffing. Its sad, it had the potential to be stuffing but came in second place.
Turkey, smoked.
Biscuits and cream gravy is tied for my favorite with sweet potatoes slow cooked with tart apples and pecans.
whiskey!!!
I like my turkey smoked, although it is difficult to keep it lit.
@texmarc what exactly do you stuff the turkey with?
The leftovers, the next day.

Halve the ingredients that make up the sauce, put into filling mix. Cover the bottom of the pan & the enchiladas with mole sauce.
@rtjhnstn I LOVE the leftovers!
@rtjhnstn That looks GOOD!
besides the dressing, I have to say FAMILY
Cornbread dressing with lots of giblet gravy!
Dressing!!!
TAMALES
What!? Mac n cheese didn’t make the cut?!
For me it’s the stuffing!!!
Just turkey. Dark meat, thigh or leg. Or both.
Cajun Fried Turkey. I am not a Cajun, but it is the only way I cook turkeys. Been making them for 21 years, and lost count of how many I have done.
Tofurky.
@00 Nofurkey.
Turkey SMOKED you heathens!
Do you think stuffing isn’t on the list because meh didn’t want to start a north vs south war?
Regardless, it should be cooked in the bird, I’ll risk it!
@steveml Even Alton Brown had to finally admit stuffing a bird wan’t evil if done correctly and with care!
Stuffing/dressing, DUH!
Turkey, heart
Honey baked ham, spiral sliced! NO to turkey!
@rawhid You’d’ve gotten a star for the ham if you hadn’t dissed the turkey.
bread/rolls
Stuffing = wet bread. Not a fan. I know, I’m a heathen. Also not a fan of turkey. What to eat?
@mehnyblooms Let me guess, you’re not a fan of any form of bread puding.
@mehnyblooms - Pecan pie.
@mehnyblooms Star for not dissing the turkey; a personal dislike is understandable.
Deviled eggs. Pumpkin pie. Apple pie. Sliced ham. Roasted chicken. And a good steak is always something worth giving thanks for.
@rtjhnstn No, for some reason it just feels weird in my mouth. I can’t get past that.
@aetris Pie is always good.
@duodec Mmmm steak. Medium rare with a nice peppercorn crust. Delicious.
Next day Turkey sandwiches with dressing, Dukes mayo, and fixins.
God damn fking socks? God dammit I hate you meh.
@marilyn80s Thanksgiving tradition? socks?
Tacos! Mom was in a no-turkey mood.
But she did sous-vide some turkey for my dad. I have to say, it even beats deep fried, unless you absolutely must have the skin. I’m not big on turkey skin.
