22 oz mug. 6 packets of hot cocoa mix. Just enough hot water to dissolve it. Fill the rest of the mug with heavy cream. Comes out to about 2700 calories if I remember right. I haven’t made it in a lot of years.

The almond flavor isn’t strong, but it’s definitely better than Swiss Miss or Nestle, etc. Now I’m thinking of getting the plain chocolate - it’s easier to find and I can always add some almond extract.
@Fuzzalini I have never noticed the cinnamon in this and I have had it hot and cold. You could also probably ask them nicely to not put cinnamon in it.

An immersion blender does an excellent job of producing frothy-as-you-like hot cocoa, but the secret is to use a 30 oz vacuum-insulated tumbler to do the mixing, and then pour the finished product into the vessel of choice for consumption. I use our Kitchenaid unit. (Street price varies, we paid about $58 early last year, might have been a refurb.)

I went online looking for the Cocomotion last night and saw those outrageous prices. Stupid Mr. Coffee - they also discontinued my favorite mug activated warmer some time ago, so I’ve stocked up when I see them cheapish on Ebay, but of course they’re pricey too. I’m tempted by the Cocomotion but afraid it will take too much counter space.

There is a very good one I bought at Costco-from Starbucks! It is a large tin. The one I bought last week was to replace the one that had a “best by” date of 2013. It was still good a month ago, but now it is discarded.
I know its malt but i LOVE Ovaltine with milk as hot as i can possibly get it!! 2nd is Nesquick(sp?) Powder with SUPER hot milk. I dont like ANY thats made with water!

I’ve mixed my own, but i usually just use the packet stuff from HEB, made in hot milk. Anyone found attempting to put coffee in my chocolate will never be found again. And water, feh, no. I want the added body of the milk. But not boiled; just hot enough provides the best result in my opinion; slightly above drinkable temp when the mix goes in, so that it’s just at drinkable temp when done stirring. A dash of cinnamon, or pie spice, is optional.
We had a restaurant supply shop nearby that unfortunately got driven out of business last year. They carried service size packs of Nestle’s dark chocolate mix that tasted better than the retail store Nestle’s packets though we did up the chocolate to water or milk ratio about 50% over the instructions; it became our favorite quick and easy hot chocolate mix though I like Alton Brown’s (see above) better.

@ircon96 To be fair when I used to drink this I was also doing a ton of bicycle riding and my daily calorie intake was easily around 6000 calories.

Any cocoa with a good shot of Irish Cream. (Make it about a third of the cup, and have at least three.)

I have my own recipe but I’ve never herd of baking the powdered milk, sounds good.

The one they sell during intermission at the ice skating rink, so you can drink it by the fire pit while you watch the Zamboni.
Recipe:
1 can of baking cocoa
1 8-qt bag of dry milk
1 qt coffee creamer
1/2 bag powdered sugar
Mix together in a ginormous bowl until it’s all one consistency. 1/3 cup of this mix per cup of water. Drink it all winter.

Use a cocomotion. The difference is surprising even with generic packets. Way better than any K cup hot cocoa.

A little bit. It mixes and heats so everything is mixed thoroughly. Use milk instead of water and even better.

Almost any brand if it is not K-cup makes good cocoa. The plastic from K-cups is unhealthy for all of us.
The real Ghirardelli stuff you get from company is always better than the stuff you buy in the store for some reason and WAY more expensive.
