@ahacksaw@katbyter@RiotDemon I don’t like burnt food at all, especially pizza, (Neapolitan style pizza is just burnt pizza) except for marshmallows. Burn them to the ground!
@Fuzzalini@katbyter@RiotDemon I tend to like slightly burnt things. And though I’m a native of NYC, my favorite pizza is NJ-style super thin crust with a good char on the bottom. Nom nom nom.
Cracking peanuts and throwing the shells in the coals and pitching the occasional nut to the squirrel that has become curious.
Long story. One year at elk camp a buddy brought his teenage daughter. She hid in the trailer all the time. We got a golden mantle squirrel (aka timber tiger) hooked on our trail mix. I got my buddy to bring his daughter out. She sat by the fire and I put a peanut on her shoe and said “don’t move”. Sure enough, Scar (we had named him) came out and in fits and starts came up to her shoe and grabbed the nut and ran off. She really got into it and after many snacks, with a trail of nuts and raisins managed to get him to crawl up her leg and onto her lap. It was so funny watching her fight the giggles and try to be still while he cautiously navigated the folds she had made in her pant leg to hold the treats. She sat outside with us most of the rest of the trip.
Holy shitake they actually had beer as a choice! They NEVER have the most obvious, best choice in these polls!! I demand to speak with the manager immediately. This is excellent, and MOST CERTAINLY not Meh.
@JT954 My father-in-law and I used to bury potatoes deep in the coals and let them sit for a long time. Delicious. Wrapping corn in a few layers of foil and then into the coals is also excellent. (I’ve heard of doing it in just the husks, but haven’t tried it.)
@JT954@mehcuda67 trick was to open the husks and de-string, then soak in cold water, then put on grill or near coals. The water keeps it from burning too much and also helps steam!
Plain old lowly marshmallow. Toasted to perfection.
@katbyter yes! Toasted! Not set on fire and then extinguished.
@katbyter @RiotDemon Once in a while I like to have one that’s slightly burnt, so that it’s meltier inside. But yeah, not incinerated.

@shahnm Never tried it. Do you heat it in a can or glass?
@mehcuda67 In my stomach.
@shahnm Hmmm. Efficient!
A Dutch Oven cooked cobbler can’t be beat. Blueberry, blackberry, peach, apple, and now I am super hungry!
@hchavers Perfect!
This is actually the correct answer.
Beans??? How about pudgie pies? aka campfire pies
Frying bacon, first thing in the morning.
@SpyreFox Bacon Bacon Bacon
Whiskey FTW
@RschDev More specifically, bourbon.
@RschDev
Bacon. thick cut, skewered on a stick and roasted over the open flame. Best treat at any time, not just breakfast
@Turken that sounds delicious.
Hot dogs. That fully cooked taste can’t be beat.
I’ll also nominate baked potato.

Breakfast. Breakfast over an open fire is most certainly a wonderful treat! There’s just nothing like it!
A hotel room.
Mountain pies!
Pretty close poll. I guess it is the alcoholics vs. Boring people.
@goldnectar I mean if you add up smores and hot dogs, they are way higher than beer.
