Bamboo Pillows Suck! Help!!
2It's been like two weeks since I got my bamboo pillows and they still look flat like deflated pancakes. Put these suckers out in the sun to try to fluff them up and I have massaged them indefinitely with no luck. Anyone here have any ideas? The fibers inside are like stuck to each other instead of loose. This is about to become my worst meh purchase :-(.

To save you reading all the comments: Wash individually in cold water, squeeze all water out in tub or sink, then dry on low or medium heat for an hour.
According to the comments, if that doesn't work, pee on them and mail to someone you dislike.
@DaveInSoCal This is what worked for me, that is the washing, not the pee.
@DaveInSoCal burning them is cathartic... just sayin'
These pillows are best used for murder.
(Note- please don't do this.)
@wishlish Oh right, like in those riddles, you can also stab him with an ice knife. "Sorry, officer, all I have is this pool of water and this fluffy pillow."
Did you get an email? I did, it said:
Hey there,
We've noticed a bit of discussion in our forums about the best practices for getting those bamboo pillows you purchased to go from a weird condensed slab of bacon shipping form in to tip top sleeping form. So we thought we'd pass on a few helpful tips.
Our own resident do it all guy, @Moose, suggests making sure that any lumps are broken apart manually and then throwing the pillows in the dryer one by one on a no or low heat setting to allow them to fluff up. If running them through the dryer doesn't quite get them to where you want, @osodrac found that running the pillows through a delicate cycle in warm water in the washing machine followed by a low heat drying session did wonders. Once that's done, we've heard that these pillows end up feeling pretty soft.
We hope these suggestions help. If you have any questions our community has proven quite helpful on offering up suggestions. Of course you can always reach out to our support team for help as well.

I too got these rolls of hell- after spending waaaaay too much time messing with them, i discovered the perfect use: I placed one in a large galvanized wash tub, poured 2 quarts of kerosene (lamp oil) on said "pillow" and we spent a few minutes drinking tequila and tossing lit road flares at the pillow. After several tries, we finally got 3 flares in at the same time and I gotta say it- these burn majestically! Yes, we polluted the air for miles- the smoke plume was thick, black and greasy- but the satisfaction that we took 2 of those fucking things out of existence was well worth the price, and cathartic as hell.
I have some of these that I bought in the real world. They are TOO FLUFFY! I saw the seller this week (at trade show) and they said to cut them open and remove part of the stuffing. Seriously trade show guys??? Way too much work.... anyone want to trade my too fluffy ones for some too flat ones?
We did the wash and dry trick. Then we had to dry them again. Then again. Then again 3 more times. It's been over a week and they've been dried several times. They're currently sitting in a sunny window for a few days in the hopes that they finally dry.
But they're both ridiculously fluffy.
send those sucky pillows my way, missed the deal.. stupid narcolepsy making me sleep and not impulse buy thing
Tennis balls in the dryer. Chuck the pillows into the washer for a quick wash and then into the dryer with several tennis balls. It'll make one helluva racket, but the tennis balls will whack the heck out of the pillows and help fluff them up.
I think this came from an old Helpful Heloise Household Hints article my grandmother sent to me years ago.
I just stopped by to say this: "I told you so"
Weeks later and these are still the worst pillows ever. I tried the dryer thing and now it's just a bunch of chunks moving around in a pillow case. The other pillow is just sitting over there in the corner of the room... still flat. Way too much work for a pillow.
@pirategirl I feel your pain.
@Barney purple.
go check out the original sale thread. others had the same issue:

You talk about a downer, these pillows are literally impossible to sleep on. Hard and uncomfortable as hell. I tried all the dryer, washer, tennis balls crap and this shit is still like sleeping on a bag of cement. I bought two of them ( I’m an idiot) I have one of them in my garage and gave the second for my dog to go at it. What a nightmare!
@Panama2018 did you buy them from meh because I don’t see any orders under this account?
@Panama2018 @RiotDemon A nightmare huh? Like when you are trying to sleep? It’s been over 3 years now, you must be very tired.
