@awk Wait, don’t go! I know it’s probably not as good as some hard liquor, but you’re welcome to take a hit of this baseball bat. Guaranteed to knock you out until next morning!
@awk@ShotgunX I remember in a chemistry lab in college I did what you’re never supposed to do, put my nose directly up close to a container and take a good strong whiff. I couldn’t remember if it was distilled water or ammonia (chemistry lab kind, not the diluted household kind). Nearly knocked me off my feet, but not in a good way.
@Kyeh@shiranissosexy Well, whose [sic] the idiot now? I was thinking Mars didn’t have any moons. But then I found this. Somehow appropriate for a Meh topic:
Yes, Mars has two small moons named Phobos and Deimos. Their names mean fear and panic in Latin.
@Kyeh@pmarin@shiranissosexy In Greek. Phobos and Deimos were the twin sons of Ares and Aphrodite. Ares’ Latin name is Mars. I’m not sure why they switched from Latin to Greek, although all the planets are Latin and many moons are Greek. And maybe having moons called Pavor, Terror or Metus didn’t sound as cool.

“fear and panic” - well, that’s very cool, and makes it a deeper joke than I realized!
The shirts are pretty great, I must say.
@Kyeh@pmarin@shiranissosexy They were supposedly the twins Dread just before a battle (Deimos, Δείμος) and the Fear/Panic/Terror during a battle (Phobos, Φόβος), since Ares/Mars was the Greek/Roman god of battles and war. But Phobos is still the modern Greek word for fear, and in English, we all have our “phobias.”
I told myself I was going to make a conscious effort to declutter, and just stop buying crap. It has become my comfort food during the pandemic. That being said, in for one:
This party sucks, I’m leaving.

I bought the little sprayer ages ago for like $15. I still have it, and I refill it with another screen cleaner. I love it so this is an easy buy
Almost bought this on reflex just because it wasn’t foot related…
@PHRoG You mean you don’t need your toenails cleaned?
@phendrick hold up… you’re supposed to do that? It wasn’t in the manual!
But I went to that website just to get schmutz on my screen.
Do these work on social media filth stuck to my screen?
@hchavers Yes. Just apply it to your screen, and then hold it there firmly while you hit it vigorously with a sledgehammer.
@hchavers APPLY DIRECTLY TO FOREHEAD

@hchavers there’s a menu. You’re going to want to go in there. Then delete it.
I find it upsetting Facebook starts off with a massive warning instead of just telling you how. They act like it’s water.

Is there the slightest typo/grammatical error in the mediocritee joke today?
@shiranissosexy I think so …

I think we just don’t hear much about them because we have no interest in them as far as space travel/probes. Whereas Saturn/Jupiter we do.
Just poor lonely Venus and Mercury out there on their own.

@ChrisHBelAir Mmmm… hairy naked guy followed by beers and some delicious Nachos?
@pmarin blame meh. They generate those confirmation phrases! But yeah. Sudsy nacho men Sunday.
I’d like to get two more of these, please.
I’m always trying to de-smuts my screens and my glasses . . . These work!
