Meh! I love you, but I bought these last time you ran them, and the sound quality is gulp terrible. They are unusable. There is an intermittent high-pitched whine any time the noise cancelling feature is turned on.
I just want to say that there have been no Bubbas since August. And that I have lost some of mine since then. And also, Bubbas rule. Too subtle? Bring back the Bubbas!!!
@MehDog Yes! Bring back the Bubba’s! Hands down, the best fricking thermos EVER! I’ve been over caffeinated every day since I got mine cuz, of course, you have to fill 'er up twice! If only they came in a selection of colors. Cuz black, is just, meh.
FakeSpot gives these a D, which means most of the positive reviews are bought and paid for, and most of the negative reviews (of which there are a lot) are real.
Do yourself a favor: Avoid items with bad FakeSpot metrics. There’s a reason they have to pay for those good reviews.
Man, I REALLY wanted a great sounding, over the ear pair of headphones. But… I’ve gotten so used to wireless headphones that I simply can’t go back to tethered
@mike808 I miss my 808s. I got a great pair through meh. they fit my big-ass head. meh, please sell the 808s again, I like them a lot and would buy more of them.
If Van Gogh would have had these…he wouldn’t have been able to listen to those people that told him…“if thy ear offends thee, cut it off”. And the course of art history would have been forever changed…
Got these last time. Great sound, the noise cancellation works like magic. BUT: they are heavy, they start really tight so you have to stretch them out and they chew through batteries like a fat guy at a buffett. I take the AAAs out at the end of the day but if i forget to they’re dead in the AM.
Got this company’s earbuds in my Fuku bag, and those are fine- but it sounds like this is another Meh headphone deal from which I’m excluded by virtue of my oversized noggin. Le sigh. Earbuds really don’t have that same “I’m not listening don’t bother,” so this writeup was extremely tempting…
@RDW0409 read my comments further down. It’s worth the $45… noise cancellation works fine. It doesn’t cancel out voices but it does cancel out the general hum/buzz of open spaces, airplanes, etc. (which is what noise cancellation is intended to do).
I bought these last time around; currently using them. They don’t suck if you want fairly effective noise cancelling without shelling out a bunch of $$$ for amazeballs name brand headphones.
The earcups are not super comfortable for long wear, but they’re $45, not $400. So I am willing to take it.
Are these usable as a gaming headset for voice? I used to grab 3 sets of headsets every 3-4 months from Moot! Before they went downhill and my back up supply is run through… I need quality gaming headsets around this price. (4 kids and bad luck, we break a lot of headsets so there is no way I’m paying $75+ a pair)
@Serafyna If your headsets are breaking that often, you should probably get a better quality headset. I’ve heard tell that non-PoS headsets often have warranties in case of children.
@andrewpatrick As the kids get older that will likely be a possibility but initially most headset deaths have been kid related. At this point its about 50/50 (kids/headset fault)… and I generally buy gaming sets that retailed for 75-150. I doubt I would ever spend $150 for a gaming headset. Meaning that I think some I’ve bought were pretty nice, just not indestructible.
They’re about twice the price (when on sale), but about twice as good (and better looking): https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=10010
And still one-third the price of those fancy “B” headphones.
Clunky, big-A headphones are like concrete galoshes… for your head.
I bought a pair of these about 2 months ago and they work great. Noise cancellation works well on flights (even if sitting over the wings) – of course these aren’t Bose, but they’re also not $400. The earcups can get a bit uncomfortable after more than 3 hours, but it’s not unbearably so. Mine are still running on the same AAA batteries that came with them when I purchased, so if you turn off noise cancellation when not needed, the battery life is fine. In-line mic on the cable works well too. Managed a conference call while at the baggage terminal at McCarran airport and was able to hear and be heard over the loud announcements and general noise. DEFINITELY worth the $45 if you don’t already have a similar pair.
Got mine yesterday, $45 was a punt. If I paid more I would be pissed, the noise reduction is poor and the pressure is too much on the headband so agreed will not be good for long periods of use. Plus side it’s mostly metal and construction feels solid.
Headphones never produce the same deep, rich sound I get from a full-sized set of speakers that I duct tape to my head.
Over-ear headphones sound so much better than over-elbow headphones.
Meh! I love you, but I bought these last time you ran them, and the sound quality is gulp terrible. They are unusable. There is an intermittent high-pitched whine any time the noise cancelling feature is turned on.
@photonstroker I found this review helpful.
At my age, these would serve me much better if the giant “A” letters were replaced with a giant “L” and “R”.
I just want to say that there have been no Bubbas since August. And that I have lost some of mine since then. And also, Bubbas rule. Too subtle? Bring back the Bubbas!!!

Why the heck would I want a “boss enhancer” mode? The first thing she is gonna say is, “take those damn headphones off and fly the plane!”

Hear hear …just need a head start tonight
These things are so tight on my head. I can’t wear them for more than 20 minutes at a time. Meh.
Man, I REALLY wanted a great sounding, over the ear pair of headphones. But… I’ve gotten so used to wireless headphones that I simply can’t go back to tethered
@haydesigner Good to see Tim Cook posts to these boards.
“over the ear,” @KwadGuy… over the ear I say.
Not sure what’s worse; lack of Bluetooth, or the fact that these aren’t flat in-ear earbuds.
@PlacidPenguin how about that A? It’s pretty bad.
@jhinra Perhaps as in that one episode of Family guy, the founder of this audio company worships at the Church of the Fonz.
@jhinra
Don’t even get me started on that.
looks good for mall ninjas
@skoobar NEGATIVE, SHINY TRIM WILL REVEAL POSITION TO ENEMY
@awk @skoobar meant the black ones, I’m sure. They just need a bit of Sharpie applied to the ugly “A”. (Whaat? No emoji for a Sharpie?)
are these any good?
@boygenius1991 Sound quality is good, but unless you have a small head they will become very uncomfortable very quickly.
@DuskShine thanks for the “heads” up. I have a giant head, so I won’t be buying these.
@boygenius1991 Love my 808s compared to these. 0 for 2, Meh.
@mike808 I miss my 808s. I got a great pair through meh. they fit my big-ass head. meh, please sell the 808s again, I like them a lot and would buy more of them.
@DuskShine after a while mine have stretched out to where they are comfortable now, they are still hella heavy though.
@boygenius1991 Get the black ones.
Cuz they’re bigger.
@boygenius1991 Still rockin my pair of 808s from Meh as well, although the bluetooth kinda crapped out. Thankfully it has a cable.
@boygenius1991 These headphones are hotter than a jalapeño’s armpit! They do sound nice though.
If Van Gogh would have had these…he wouldn’t have been able to listen to those people that told him…“if thy ear offends thee, cut it off”. And the course of art history would have been forever changed…
@eeterrific We would remember Van Gogh as thy chap with an orchestra in thy earmuffs.
This audio company really should replace the keyboard of their chief copy writer with one that doesn’t have a sticky “A.”
BLUETOOTH OR GTFO!

The Kids REALLY like the box, too.

These look gaudy and according to Amazon reviews, nearly 50% of buyers hate them and say the noise cancelation sucks.
@andrewpatrick But the other 50% say “I got these for free, but that doesn’t affect my positive review that I wrote without actually using them.”
I bought these last time around; currently using them. They don’t suck if you want fairly effective noise cancelling without shelling out a bunch of $$$ for amazeballs name brand headphones.

meh, I can’t hear you!
@sohmageek What did you say?
@Stallion Huh? Can you say it again?
A bit louder this time. Eleven?
"A polishing cloth you don’t have to hide from your mom."
This is a definite sharing violation, meh.
That case looks rather nice.
@Moose, please don’t tell me something silly like I have to clear my phone’s cache, but those Picture links in the specs seem to be all wonkered up.
Wonder if I should buy these for my metal detector? Hmmm…

@Serafyna Looks like the cable is detachable, which means you /should/ be able to replace it with something like one of these and have it work:

The “A” stands for anachronistic. Meh, indeed.

Fully 1/2 the ad copy dealt with how they LOOK. That should give you a clue as to how well they work. No-name head phones from China? Meh.
I’m glad meh mentioned that these were on ear…I bet it would be a hassle trying to stick them in ear…
@werekong you could try sticking them somewhere else…
@eeterrific only if you show me first…
