These are so worth it, this is my third or fourth purchase of these since these were originally offered. They’re not bad blades and they actually give a really good close shave.
@somf69 I’m a fan of Dorco blades. I personally use their 7 blade razor but I can’t say no to this mediocre deal. I like that these razors come with a blade on the backside for under the nose. The 7 blade from Dorco doesn’t have that. Boo.
@somf69 Disagree, these are pretty bad. Not very good at cutting and definitely not a close shave. Also somehow pretty easy to cut yourself with despite the extra blades.
Face and Head shaver here… I didn’t hate the Dorco Pace 6 (which this definitely may or may not be), but I felt like I was willing to pay more for something better. Ended up on the Schick Hydro 5 at costco for probably twice the cost of this and don’t regret the extra $1-2/month. The Schick lasts longer, and I vastly prefer the smooth and heavy handle that comes with it. If you’re into saving a few dollars and aren’t into having opinions about shaving products, then buy the shit out of this bundle
Last time I ordered these they came poorly packaged and with water leaking into the bag. The blades were … gross … to say the least. But I regularly use Dorco blades and I’m a sucker for a mediocre deal so I took the plunge again!
To Mediocre Labs’ credit, they refunded my purchase when I told them the about the grossness. Good on ya, customer service!
Now back to my brushing my teeth with my new totally legally purchased toothbrush
6 blades is just ludicrous. They just aren’t maneuverable around the sharper contours of the face, especially around the nose, mouth, and adam’s apple. I’m sticking with my Sensor Excel blade. You can these new for ~$1/blade on eBay.
I don’t need them to be good. I’m tired of the TSA getting nervous about my DE razor and having to, uh, find blades wherever I’m going instead of just carrying them with me. Ostensibly.
In for a pack that will probably last a couple years. Good deal.
So I’m not really interested in this sale (I use an electric), but I do want to know what the odds are that this write-up story is going to end with Marshall opening up a box containing a severed handlebar mustache, and Grull, in a fit of uncontrolled rage and grief, applying half a dozen sprays of Minoxidil directly to the Upper Lip Eraser’s face.
I bought a large pack of these off the morningsave site. They just aren’t very good. I can get two or three shaves out of a blade and then they become so dull that using one is akin to masochism. No bueno!
Still have one handle and 448 blades left but I got the 54 + 2 handle deal… Need the damn handles… I have 3 boys and these make great bday stuffer gifts. Plus I’m good now on blades til 2049 or death whichever is first
@Mburde Ditto. A “close” shave destroys my face. I’ve been shaving for nearly 30 years and at this point I’m using disposable Bic Flex 3’s that I get four or five shaves from each (with a pre-shave “strapping” on my forearm in the shower).
@Mburde I am with you on the two blades, but I have been happy with other cheaper alternatives. (Note: I have a beard, I only use shavers to clean/shape up). I have been happy with the Personna Twin II blades, which are compatible with the Gillette Trac II razor.
Also - during a period where I lost my Trac II handle - I was pleasantly surprised with Barbasol Twin-Blade Razors that I got in a 5 pack from dollar tree. I now pick them up whenever I travel - so I don’t lose my handle again!
got pseudofolliculitis barbae? (aka shave bumps) These 6-blade razors are a good way to find out about those shave bumps first hand!
meh!, how about digging even deeper into the bargain bin to sell some single blade disposable razors. Say 1/6th as many blades for 1/5th the price?
Wikipedia endorsement: “Those who use a razor, should use a single blade or special wire-wrapped blade to avoid shaving too closely, with a new blade each shave”
I wonder how many people are buying this deal who are listed in the Panama Papers it seems like a good deal and what do you tax evading dickwads want? Are you going to spend a Billion dollars on lap dances mufu’s?
Candy is over here, she wants your throbbing pencil better make it rain (then at least your stripper can hide it from the tax man also so you cut out your country all together). It would suck if Merika had dem gud schools with taxpair dollas.
Five years ago I bought a “sample pack” of different double edge blades…64 packs of them…and finally got through them all. Now I’m good for a few more years
I’ve been using Dorco for several years. Mainly because I’m a cheap-ass and don’t really want to help pay Tom Brady’s salary. Having a full beard I only use them on my neck 2-3 times a week so they last quite a while for me. Wifey tried them doesn’t like them. Like all the other posts claims they dull too quickly.
Once you go DE/Taylor of old bond street you don’t go back. Then again I work from home so I haven’t done a real shave in at least a year. Feather blades and badger brush are on standby.
@unksol Word! I’m still waiting for my Feather Stainless to be picked up off my wish list. Until then, I still use the missile silo cheap one. Still very good, and initial buy was cheaper than the Gillettes.
@ManBehindPlan@unksol The thing putting me off from safety razors is that you can’t fly with them in carryons but you can fly with a disposable razor. I travel so often on cheap flights with only carryons that I’d probably end up accidentally bringing it, and losing it to security.
Still, I’m considering it. Is there a decent one for cheap with a metal handle?
@ManBehindPlan@owenversteeg@unksol Yeah, you can get a Parker for pretty cheap. Personally I prefer the Persona blues to Feathers, but there are plenty of sample packs to figure out what blade you prefer. I bought a Merkur Futur for $60, 12 years ago. So there really isn’t a need to cheap out on a handle, the price over time is always decreasing.
I’d just leave the DE kit in the cabinet and maybe keep some of these in the travel kit. TSA are idiots. No one’s taking over a plane with a razor blade…
@ManBehindPlan@owenversteeg also all you should be able to loose to security is the blade. Take blade out toss 50 cent blade. Be annoyed and buy disposable or blades at destination. They can’t make you throw away the handle once the blade is gone
@ManBehindPlan@owenversteeg@unksol It has been a few years but both RiteAid and Walgreens had blades. Thinking back on it they may have been single edge blades (I have both types of handles from my father/grandfather). You could always call before leaving to see if blades are available for your handle - buying blades at location might be just as cheap as buying throw away razors.
Just lost my meh virginity. In for 2 of these. These are the same blades as dollar shave club and I have to say they are pretty dang good for the money. The gripe I have with these is the handle. The handle has a metal clip on this tiny pin, after a few months of use, one side of the pin usually snaps off. I have been through many many handles and always breaks in the exact same spot.
The first blade of the 6 dulls quickly because it is the leading edge. I’ve take to moving the leading edge blade to the last position and moved all the others down one notch spot. I’m good for 3-4 days and then I do the rotation over again. I know I am at the end of the rotation when the cuts appear. Honored that it lasted 6x longer than everyone else’s .
Well worth the money given I’m retired and have nothing better to do with my time than to rotate blades. Going for the max on this because it beats crocheting.
I hope my crazy neighbor doesn’t go on meh. He puts razor blades and broken glass on his lawn to keep animals and kids off of it. Not that he takes care of the lawn. It is hard to mow with glass and razors on it. Thank goodness the blades aren’t loose the way there were years ago! Moral of this post…if you are going to buy a new house, ask the people walking their dogs about any crazy people. We tend to know more of them because we talk to each other and pass the same houses every day!
@smilingjack if you’re serious then he’s litterally crazy. Glass cuts. Stupid expensive safety razor cartridges don’t. Much cheaper DE blades do if at the right angle
@unksol Also put a happy birthday Adolf poster in his window on Hitlers birthday. Never thought I’d live to see that. Neighborhood was always 1/2 Jewish and now it is more than 1/2 Asian. Total wacko. So there are wackos in every neighborhood, even ones that are considered good.
Not kidding, the dog people know!
These are really good, and a great deal compared to Gillette etc. But my shaving box already overfloweth from last time, so I’ll pass this time around. I don’t have a Mehdiction bad enough to buy more. I’d have to leave them in my will if I did.
Found out that Dollar Shave Club most likely supplied by Dorco. Wonder if the handles are interchangable? I guess I’m gonna find out: I’m in…
furious-babbling-act
I just received mine on Saturday. These are definitely the same as the dollar shave club and the blades fit their handle and vice versa. My local supermarket also sells the same blades/handles but are more expensive. Glad I got these.

@hurtsdonut @somf69 you’re telling me the 7-blade is seven blades all in a row???
@hurtsdonut @somf69 I bought some of each from Dorco USA and like the Pace 6 better than the 7. The blades of the 7 are closer together.
I bought the 6 without the back trimmer blade because it was a little cheaper.
@somf69 Disagree, these are pretty bad. Not very good at cutting and definitely not a close shave. Also somehow pretty easy to cut yourself with despite the extra blades.
@Lazarpandar @somf69 It is. Pure chaos. But an exceptionally smooth shave.
@somf69 I prefer Dorco to Gillette/Schick… I don’t think the cut quite as close but the blades seem to last a lot longer before needing replacement.
9 blades will probably last me a year.
The Mrs. doesn’t like the women’s blades though, she says they cut her skin more.
Men’s blades work great for me though.
The best that Meh can get?
@jmkiii a mehn can get
@jmkiii @reclaimercube by mehnen?
You’d be mad too.
This is a sharp deal!
So thankful that beards are in vogue. I still haven’t used all of the $3 12-pack of disposable razors I bought in 2010.
No more Dorcos!
Bring back the Schick Hydros!!
@zachdecker I agree. These blades are truly - meh!
Hail Hydro

I never could get the hang of Gillette style razors; they’re too inflexible. I’m a Schick Tracer man; gotta get that flex.
In short, I’m too clumsy for six blade razors like this. It’d be a blood bath.
Who would make a knock-off cartridge for a cheap handle? Meh knows their customers well.
Last time I ordered these they came poorly packaged and with water leaking into the bag. The blades were … gross … to say the least. But I regularly use Dorco blades and I’m a sucker for a mediocre deal so I took the plunge again!

@hurtsdonut Your blades were submerged at some point??? Now that is weird.
Third order…the 64 no handle deal. Best shaves in years. Screw Gillette with blades so expensive they have to be locked up on the display!
6 blades is just ludicrous. They just aren’t maneuverable around the sharper contours of the face, especially around the nose, mouth, and adam’s apple. I’m sticking with my Sensor Excel blade. You can these new for ~$1/blade on eBay.

@bugger 448… Lucky number
Hard pass on 6 blades. Two blades best for me, Gíllette Sensor Excel Razor preferred. Ideally used with the original handle design.
@Mburde Ditto. A “close” shave destroys my face. I’ve been shaving for nearly 30 years and at this point I’m using disposable Bic Flex 3’s that I get four or five shaves from each (with a pre-shave “strapping” on my forearm in the shower).

@mwarren WORD. I did buy some of these though because the single edges i use (feather) are like 75 cents each
@mwarren - Wasn’t pseudofolliculitis barbae the one after Malibu Barbie?

Also looks like they have a very well reviewed brush.

@bghozali sorry about that. They’ll set it right. They are a little slow getting through emails but they’ll get back to you.
Hopefully you’ll stick around and try something else and meet some people in the forums.

I was shorted. I already have the handles and ordered the 64pack and only received 48. I am not happy when my order is short by 25%.

What handle do I need to order to use these blades other than that I’m stuck
@martyh did you buy the 64 pack without handle?
They should be compatible with dollar shave club handles.
@martyh @RiotDemon Or keep an eye open on Slickdeals for Dorco specials where you can get the handle and a few blades for $2 or so.
