@hchavers@ircon96 The recipe I heard from Danish friends for coffee is: brew coffee so thick a spoon stands up in it. Put a kroner coin in the bottom of a mug and pour in coffee until you can’t see the coin any more. Then pour in akvavit until you can see the coin clearly again.
@hchavers@kensey Whew, that sounds like it’d put hair on your chest, as they say! No wonder those Nordic types can tolerate that heinous weather, they probably don’t even notice how cold & snowy it is!
I’ve had these. They’re … fine. They are chewy and dense and weirdly gritty, and not as sweet as you’d think (though the flavors I tried didn’t have chocolate and caramel on them. The thing they remind me most of is those bars that list their ingredients, whatever brand that is, like “twelve blueberries, nineteen oats, seven almonds.”
Is it me or are the quantities going up on these food items? Like somehow we went from 2-packs to 72-packs. What can I do with 72 stale candy bars (sorry “energy” bars).
@awk agreed. I’m guessing it’s balancing profits with shipping for VMPs who may be more tempted to impulse buy things.
It’s been 50-50 on food items I’ve ordered on whether or not I have thrown out half the batch for becoming barely edible. I’m hesitant to order more with only 30 days out best by days.
@awk@Smersh for what it’s worth I sampled these and they didn’t taste anywhere near stale. My favorite was the fudgy mocha, but they were all pretty tasty
Complimentary Side Deal offering is the “Cocoa Espresso” version - 1/2 the size for 3/4 of the price for 7/8 of the caffeine. Too much wine to analyze the value, so I just bought both …

I already chew my coffee, i just brew it extra thick.
@ircon96 Scandinavians do that too, especially around mid-summer. I throat hurts just remembering morning coffee Helsinki.
@hchavers Sounds like i need a field trip to investigate that myself! One can dream…
@hchavers @ircon96
@hchavers @macromeh Now i won’t be able to listen to that song without thinking about philandering Finnish dudes!

I am predicting a lot of pooping when you finish a bar
Can you make “is it vegan” the next “does it make margaritas?” or serial number thing? Because it would be genuinely useful.
Reading ingredients is a curse I have wished upon the scoundrels of the world, not is poor saps who are trying to leave fewer dents in the world?
It would be genuinely useful!
(Starts reading the ingredients…,)

@awk Whattya mean, stale? They expire next year!

I want a mug
Ffs just enjoy your breakfast or a snack and just snort however much powdered caffeine you need instead of masking it in some food
I never developed a taste for extra thick, extra strong coffee.
Seems worth a gamble. I like coffee and chocolate.
You had me until coffee. Gag.

Garbage.
@robthedude05 Sure, but is it a good deal?
25 grams of carbs coffee or sugar boost. Hard pass
Not exactly tasty but definitely perked me up
