EDIT don’t know what year image it grabbed, but that is actually a fairly stylish 2-door coupe for the time period. Reminds me of some Italian coupe designs of the time.
@pmarin I loved my Lt. Blue Vega that I got in HS in 1977. I kept the inside and outside pristine. Transmission and engine problems were all too prevalent though. The original disposable car.
@growyoungagain@MrNews@pmarin Actually, the Nova was a pretty good car in its day, and the thing about it not selling in Mexico is utter bull; the original Nova was regarded as a really good ride down there. And the later Nova was basically a Toyota Corolla with a Chevy badge.
@ashemo Well that explains alot. My Dad bought my 73 with 3rd gear not working and I swear I used more oil than gas. He also bought a 74 and a 75 Astre. He got them on the cheap, the dealers probably lost money for sure.
I got the chocolate last time, taste is pretty good for protein shake category. I drink these pretty often when I’m on the road so I’m pretty stoked about the price. Also good for emergency food. Mix it with soy milk, yogurt and cinnamon for some better flavor and texture.
The “best by” date is 2.5 months away and one container is a 2.5 months supply (assuming daily use!) , so this is three more containers than one person can use.
These were probably manufactured over a year ago.
Hard pass unless you run a gym or are giving this away to a high school or college athletics squad.
On the good side, these are cheap. But you need some buds with commitment to eat this stuff daily for 3 months.
@mike808 But in my opinion you are really giving too much importance to the “best by” date of a dry stable powder, assuming not stored improperly. (high temps, exposed to moisture while open, etc). But that’s a matter of opinion and personal choice.
But yeah the math of this does make you think about "how exactly will I use this up in a reasonable amount of time, or with what other people, etc, which is basically what you point out. That’s valid.
@mike808 there are only 19 servings per container for the all-in-one & 30 per container for the gut health. So that’s 19-30 days per container for a total of a 2.5-4 month supply (assuming one serving per day)
@retinoic Oh I see what happened: @mike808 used the “76 servings” number for the spec of the chocolate all-in-one. But that represents the purchase of the 4x pack of that. A close-up of the container for the all-in-one does say “approx 19 servings” – so this explains why the math seemed off on this at first. Now it makes sense.
I have the chocolate from last time - it’s not bad straight up, but still a little chalky as expected. I add some yogurt and a shot of cold brew and that’s pretty good.

Anyone done a deep-dive into the claims of excessive heavy metals and inaccurate sodium labelling?
(multiple tests “failed” them and there’s a class-action lawsuit)
I’m wondering if they’ve changed their product since the “failed” tests, have the claims been debunked or proven, and, if these are newer, are they “safer”?
I am regular enough now. If I was more regular, my wife would go back to wearing a mask.
@hchavers Have you checked with the CDC?
I had a 1973 Vega. I would’nt recommend.

Terrible Cars That Shouldn’t Have Been Terrible: Chevrolet Vega

@growyoungagain @pmarin Nothing worse than the Chevy Nova. It actually means “doesn’t go” in Spanish!
@growyoungagain @pmarin That was a '73. The '74 had the battering-ram bumpers. The engines were junk either way, and the bodies rotted fast.
@growyoungagain @MrNews @pmarin Actually, the Nova was a pretty good car in its day, and the thing about it not selling in Mexico is utter bull; the original Nova was regarded as a really good ride down there. And the later Nova was basically a Toyota Corolla with a Chevy badge.

@mike808 keep in mind the Orange Ginger variety has best by in Novembe/December
How shakes would you have to drink to equal the fiber in one bowl of New Super Colon Blow???
@Bumplepimp Add a half teaspoon of canola oil to mine, and the answer becomes “ONEofuckgetoutofmyway!”
Can I feed this to cows to make a super whey isolate?
@fuzzmanmatt No whey!
And/or gut health is kind of the subtitle to my life book

@ParadigmShyft not disputing it based on the zero evidence you provide, but links to the articles or “research” would be handy. Otherwise it’s FUD.
