USB-B? What year is it?
@shawn_mitch just imagine some poor sucker has a printer they haven’t been able to use for 5 years because their cat chewed up their USB B cable and they couldn’t find a replacement
well if that isnt as useless as it gets - will these charge my iphone 4?
@jmhsrv nope…too new!
Does anything take these anymore?
@PHRoG Yeah the e-Waste recycling place
This crap is so crappy, I don’t think I even want to try for an instant regret kit
These are great for getting you from port A to port B.
@zachdecker Let me take you on a sea cruise…
What the fuck even uses these anymore? Really shit printers?
I cannot remember when I last used a USB-B peripheral. Mini-B, Micro-B sure. Maybe 2008/9 when I bought a printer before I hooked it into WiFi? But I think maybe I never did connect direct so probably before 2008.
Wait, don’t these work with my printer?
My SO and I were just talking about these cables tonight, wondering where the bag of mismatched cables got off to so we could grab one for using his old alphasmart to write on again.
I have a cheap printer and the wifi was too hard to figure out- will these work? ANYONE???
@sammydog01 you’d have to check the printer for that answer.
@PHRoG But it’s all the way downstairs. Is this a typical one?
@sammydog01 that was supposed to be the hot fuzz guy but giphy isn’t cooperating with me.
Seriously though, if anyone needs these, a great place to check is a Comcast or other cable place’s dumpster.
Often times cable boxes come with these for some reason or another, and the installers often don’t use them and throw them out.
That and 2 packs of batteries for the remotes. I guess some people must keep the same remote they had.
@zachdecker that or Goodwill for 25 cents or if you’re really baller the dollar store.
10’ is crazy long for a USB cable too. I’d totally be in for a mixed 3 pack of braided cables, like USB-C to USB-A, USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to micro-USB. But USB-B is the least useful of all USBs.
This has been “what’s the highest ratio of instances of USB you can get into a coherent, meaninful paragraph”, with Chuck McGraph. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
