Over the last few years I have taken to buying swimsuits at the end of the season when they get clearanced at WalMart (usually less than $5, sometimes down to 1 or 2 bucks a pop). Since I have a pool I buy them in an assortment of sizes S to 3XL) so that I have some available if anybody visits (without bringing a suit) and wants to hit the hot tub in winter or pool in summer.
Once the elastic starts to give out on mine I use them as work shorts (assuming they have a string as well )so I can jump into the pool in the summer once I get hot working outside.
Tempting, but I’d like to have the option of buying muted solid colors (like blue, black, and grey) and not have to risk “neon lime” or “tangerine popsicle” when I choose “Solids” as my color. I guess I’m getting old. One pair in the color of my choice for $10 would be even more tempting. I agree with the previous post - 3 pairs of swim trunks is a lot if you don’t live right by the beach.
@tarpaper brighter colors are actually safer to wear in the water because you can be seen from the surface if you, you know, we’re to get hit in the head and sink…
@tarpaper I’m a little rusty at this, but by my calculations, if there are six total styles in the group you select, and these are broken into four you like and two you don’t like, and then three of these (all different) are drawn at random from these six, your probability of getting 3 you like is 1/5 (20%), 2 you like and 1 you don’t is 3/5 (60%), and only 1 you like and 2 you don’t is also 1/5 (20%).
These numbers hold only if the pick of the trunks is truly made at random.
