Tonight’s Hallmehrk pitch: Christmas comes on a star-studded Trap Tuesday this year. There is a Christmas play that needs directing, and only one young woman who can do the job, but she’s feeling a little down this year. And where can you get a decent Christmas tree in the middle of the concrete jungle?
You’ve never seen Christmas carols quite like this, live from Brooklyn with special guest appearance by Migos, Travis Scott, and Nicki Minaj as Lucy (sparks may fly!). Join the gang, twerking around the Christmas tree and deck the halls with boughs of booty in A Cardi B(rown) Christmas.
@djslack now that you show promise in these, i think @moose@dave or someone needs to send you a list of the next 2 weeks of products so you can incorporate product descriptions, as suggested in yesterday’s write-up. Seems only right and fair.
@turtle_2014 At this price, if I was looking for inexpensive Qi chargers, I would do it. The trouble with some of meh’s sales is nobody has owned the thing before. Mehbe later on when more people are awake they’ll chime in. @dave?
I haven’t bought a new cell phone since I dropped my palm pixi plus a year ago, and the screen cracked. I musta had it for ten years, and it had sooo many things that phones are just starting to get today. Including a Qi type device that charged it. I just threw the phone on it at night, no looking for a little plug in slot.
I think i paid less than $40 for it–now I’m looking for about a $200 phone that works on pageplus.
Man, how did I get so old so fast?
@kungfuqua These are old. When they were new none of the iPhones supported Qi, but Qi seemed to be the future for Android.
Since then Apple picked up Qi and Google dropped it.
Look at the specs, no more than 5 watts, no more than 5mm (0.2 inches). This suggests that if your phone is in a thick case, it won’t charge at all. If the case is thinner, it will charge very slowly. Without a case and with being precisely centered on the coil the phone might get the full 5 watts, which is still slow, but not very slow.
With an effiency less than 70%, both the phone and charger will get very warm.
OK, maybe this is a sign. Went to order after reading the forum and checking the reviews (at least trying to) then got distracted by the IRK video about touchscreens in cars.Meanwhile they sold out except for some MVP ones that will only be available while I am at work and can’t guarantee that it will be quiet enough at the ER to watch the clock for 1600 to roll around… Oh well. Maybe next time (cause you KNOW there will be a next time…)
I will not be pulled in again to these Qi chargers. I have purchased several. …from cheap to expensive and have returned or goodwill’d them all. There are NO quick charge Qi pads that actually work. It’s all one big giant Qieef!
Q: How much is shipping? How will it be shipped? Can I pay to expedite it?
A: Shipping’s always $5. So yeah, we’re going to ship it the slowest and cheapest way we can possibly find. Usually that’s Smartpost or Surepost, which starts with FedEx or UPS and ends with the post office. It’ll probably be 2 weeks before you get it. And no you can’t get it any faster.
Q: Ok, fine, it’s slow. But when will it be shipped? And how can I track it?
A: We wait until the day after the event ends to print the shipping labels, and sometimes if it’s busy it can be two or three days (not counting weekends, because we don’t ship on weekends). Once it ships, we’ll throw a tracking number on your orders page at https://meh.com/orders and send you a “Your order has shipped” email with all that on it.
As a sidenote, for all those folks whining about “missing the old Woot” … slow shipping is just like the old Woot. Then again, folks have whined about the current Woot getting stuff to them in two days too, so.
I have been using them with my iPhone XR. Very slow charging. I have a slim case and it seems to work, although very, very, slowly. I also noticed that they would shut off if I was using the standard iphone usb charger. I switched to the ipad charger and now they stay on. If you passed on it, good for you. iPhone does feel warm after charging. My wife’s iphone xr with a popsocket says it is charging but barely seems to gain any significant charge.
Purchased 2 sets - one for me, one for a friend. I opened one of mine, can’t get the cable to plug in enough to get power to transfer. The instructions say there is an LED, but I’m not seeing anything. Of the three my friend got, one has the internals so twisted you can see the internals through the USB port, but nothing to plug into. Contacted support.
I guess I got lucky on these. All three of the ones I received work well, including the color changing LED.
This is my first experience with wireless chargers, and even though my new phone says it is “Charging slowly”, I’m pretty happy with the speed.
