Ok. So we either trust Meh who shows 5 marshmallows inside, or we trust the box which in the only marshmallow visible picture shows 8. Either way unless there is the perfect amount of marshmallows that when half melt into the cocoa that there is still an inch thick layer on top it isn’t enough.
@Tiamat114 just make sure you have some mini marshmallows in the pantry. Because I’m sure all the ones in here will melt with the hot milk. And yes there needs to be a good layer of marshmallow on top.

Everyone gets to chop an arm, leg, head, ect, from a figure to add to their cocoa. If could be a family building, anxiety relieving experience. Supplement with a mega bag of mini-marshmallow happiness, or splurge on some fancy marshmallows. Sounds more fun than dropping an overpriced and mediocre choc bomb with an insufficient amount of choc and marshmallows for a large mug. I think I’ve found my hot cocoa fun idea.

@sfwineguy I bought these on sidedeal cause I’m always making hot chocolate for my niece and nephew. they just arrived today and I used 1 to check it out and it was ok. not the best cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever had, but not the worst either. the ball didn’t actually melt away when I poured the milk over it. it just kinda softened it up a bit but I might not have heated the milk up enough 1st. I bought the 12 pack and I will definitely use them until they are gone, but I don’t think I’d buy them again after they are gone.

In Mexico, they sell solid chocolate hunks (usually with some cinnamon added) that are designed to melt and combine readily with either hot water (“Como aqua para chocolate”) or hot milk. It’s not eating chocolate! Here in Texas, a lot of the grocery stores carry that product in their ethnic foods aisle, and while it does require a lot more mixing than our powder, it can also make a really good cuppa.

Those are actually quite different than solid milk chocolate. That’s why they’re not good for eating. Almost no cocoa butter. They’re like powder in compressed form. The milk chocolate like these balls have too much cocoa powder to melt in milk properly (this is why you cook with darker chocolate as well)
I’d love to give these as little extra gifts for teachers, etc…but with the way packages are thrown around during shipping, especially during the holiday season, I have a feeling a good number of these would arrive cracked or completely broken.

We’re actually making our own version today! We will have all sorts of fillings so the kids can customize them. I got good quality milk and dark bark to chop for tempering. I’ll have to post pictures of the process and the final product!
