I have bought quite a few of these when they were only flashlights. They are my absolute favorite flashlights to use when working on anything, since they have so many options! You can have bright light from the top, or bright light from the side. You can have magnets hold it in place, you can use the clamps in the base, or you can hang it from the stowaway extra-swively hook. Batteries don’t get eaten up too quickly either. The addition of the pointy glass-breaky nips and sharp cutty parts are pretty meh, especially for how expensive such stupid addons make these. Extremely meh of you, Meh.
@JamesEKohl I agree with you. The original basic cheap flashlights were surprisingly good and useful. Despite making no attempt whatsoever to masquerade as a quality product. Nonetheless they all still work.
You can get excellent high-quality LED work lights from Milwaukee and DeWalt, but these will start at $50. Not including the power tool battery system which presumably you already had, if you buy these. They are really nice. But a lot more than $5-$8.
Bought 4 of these back on May 14th 2019 great item really great quality at the time it was a 2 for Tuesday and they were 2 for $8.00 so looks like the price doubled very bright light blinding …
@dvermilion@mexicantacos AFAIK The Meh-Industrial Complex is in a bunker underground and has no windows. Plus since it’s in Texas they are probably all heavily-armed.
Don’t mess with Texas
(do they still use that? - I remember it from an anti-littering ad campaign in the 1980’s)
@mexicantacos, they will break any window on an auto, or your house, unless they’re bullet proof. FYI, it will crack the windshield, but it won’t shatter the way the side, the vent, or the back glass will. The w/s can be cracked, and pushed out from the inside by using your feet, or it can be cracked, and smashed in from the outside by, again, using your feet, or a bag of fn rocks!! Ya may be saying, “Ah, What Is He Going On About?” Well, the tools are for a real emergency, and just as these tools come in handy, so will this knowledge, JSYK!!
@BuddTX Yeah, agree with that. Except for things have have to be thin and very light, it makes no sense to have something THIS BIG take AAAs. They cost the same (or more) and store about 1/3 as much energy. I usually use rechargeables, but still, the complaints about battery life are valid, because this thing DOES put out a lot of light (good), but if you’re going to use it for extended times (more than a minute or two at a time), then those AAAs will discharge quickly.
My only question was going to be if it makes a good chew/fetch toy for my pups and fortunately the last picture answered everything for me!
You all should really include that important piece of info directly in the description and tap into that whole second market, it can really take a product from meh to holy shit, I can’t live without this brilliant contraption. Whats better than 9-in-1? 10-in-1
@kevin_meh, Well, is that a rhetorical question¿? There Are many things better, such as,…money, a nice vehicle, a great family, a cool man cave, a dog, or a Pink Floyd song & so on, etc, etc,…just saying [I am just being sarcastic at 3:31 AM CST] My Bad!!
I’m in for 2. I have this thing for flashlights anyway, and the reviews here seem pretty good. I’ve been wanting a belt cutter/window smasher, so it’s a deal!
Ok so a flashlight lantern with the hanging hooks was nice when storms knocked out power for hours. Hanging from the fan pull chains helps in a room. Guess I’m in, I can keep them in the car but not store batteries in them. Already have a cutter breaker though.
@Vertabrae One nice thing about these is that it seems to be OK to leave batteries in them, i.e. they don’t slowly discharge leaving you with dead lights in an emergency.
Many here had bad experiences with LED lights with “smart” switches that had features like brightness settings or flash, but they used a small amount of power ALL the time including OFF. Leaving people with lights that were dead every few months. So ones in your “emergency kit” like in a car would be useless when you needed them. Some sold by Costco did this, as did many others. It was a bad time for LED flashlights. I’m pretty sure these are OK and don’t have that problem.

@mellowirishgent They added a cord cutter and glass breaker on these. Not worth almost double the price
Will this break house windows too? Asking for a friend
@mexicantacos Only one way to find out!

@pmarin
@pmarin Also, there’s this:
Welcome to the red light district.
If only they were Double A . . .
@BuddTX Yeah, agree with that. Except for things have have to be thin and very light, it makes no sense to have something THIS BIG take AAAs. @BuddTX @pmarin This is exactly why it is a no-buy for me.
Also got two, sometime in the past. Only ding for me is what seems like a short battery life, but perhaps I just have meh batteries…
@rjquillin
yeh, it’s been a while since they sold batteries here… like these
@rjquillin Many times the ones that run on 3 AAA batteries will run off one 18650. Anyone know if these will? If so, I’m in.
@aarond12 The three in this one are side by side.
My only question was going to be if it makes a good chew/fetch toy for my pups and fortunately the last picture answered everything for me!

Thanks for that, hope so!

Never a good sign when u open up the package and see this on one of these “emergency tools”.
The lights all seem to work fine…for now. Maybe the window breaker itself shatters on contact with glass…or did someone just misplace their name tag??
