Order them. They make GREAT tips for hairdressers, barbers, wait staff, etc. It’s a SCIENTIFIC FACT that gift items are much more appreciated and remembered than money.
@jeffreywsnyder@muffnman003@Woody1
So you are saying you can tell me who gave you cash last year and how much but have forgotten people that gave you an actual gift?
Obviously you prefer mostly cash but I can’t imagine a $5 bill stands out more than say a $5 sneaker phone charger.
I meant give the person a generous tip AND a power bank.
It’s what I have been doing with the many power banks we have been purchasing with our two accounts from Meh AND MorningSave (both the power banks with fans and those with flashlight functions). Wait staff that use the electronic order pads SEEM to love our gifts of boxes of 12 multicolored ball point pens with capacitive stylus tips for touchscreens purchased from Amazon, like THESE:
@jeffreywsnyder@muffnman003@Woody1-I had a friend who, after I completed a job, asked me, “Do you want a tip?” where I said, “Yes!” & he replied, “Get outta the business!” LOL!!
@decoratedwarvet@sammydog01 works out similar. The ten pack of 6000 is .0006 per mAh and the four pack of 9000 is .00061. So if you have old school VMP the 9000s work out better.
@RedOak Go ahead and laugh but the robot dog I picked up at the thrift store uses a USB cable and I had to dig to find one in a drawer. I almost cancelled mine and ordered this one. Almost.
@sammydog01 aha, yes the less squished micro-USB that is the Mini-USB. Only slightly less obsolete than the Mini-SD card and in a similar state of obsolescence as the 30-pin.
@nolrak-Granted they don’t look very shoe-friendly, but comfort is better gained by wearing them, walking around with them on, so, please, reserve your judgement after you’ve tried them out! Put them on & let me know what happened!!
@bruhaha Where are you getting 30 pin cable from? There is no mention of 30 Pin in the description nor are there any in the pictures.
This is a power bank where you supply your own cables this powerbank isn’t tethered to any specific brand you can charge everything from an iPhoneX to a Vibrator is it uses a USB Cord for charging you can even charge both so they’re good and charged for your nightly phone sex or porn binge
Got them last time. So glad I did as I have been using them to keep my “refurbished” phone on life support. The phone is going back as soon as it’s replacement gets here.
ON FURTHER REVIEW OF MY STUPID ELECTRICAL EXPERTISE. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT CHARGING A DEVICE WHILE I’M CHARGING MY CHARGER. IT WORKS FOR ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS THEN STOPS CHARGING. SO, ALL WHOSE INTELLIGENCE I INSULTED, I’M SINCERELY & PROFUSELY SORRY!! MY BAD!! IF YOU WANT TO BRING IT TO ME, I WILL UNDERSTAND, BUT I DO REALLY APOLOGIZE!! I tried to delete my stupid remarks, but I couldn’t!! Sorry!!
@n8mack33-Yes,me!! They were 4 for #20, which equals to $5 each!! Now, they’re $6 each for 2 & $3.60 each for 10, so 10 is the better deal, but who the fuck needs 10 sneakers, except a damned Santa!!
I bought 50 of them, including 4 orders of 10 for nieces/nephews so they can learn to continue my tradition of giving. (Wife and I each have an account.)

Give the person a generous tip AND a power bank. As I feel certain you are aware, tips in our society are considered MOST of wait staff’s wages (unique in the world except our continent, I believe), so I always give a generous tip, as long as they do a fair to middling job. (Some people just have bad days, and for the most part I don’t blame the wait staff for errors in the kitchen, but that’s just me because I am such a caring, giving person.)
Giving them as tips is what I have been doing with the many power banks we have been purchasing with our two accounts from Meh AND MorningSave (both the power banks with fans and those with flashlight functions). @jeffreywsnyder I hear you Jeff. My mom always said to put a dollar into gift wallets or purses. So giving a fully charged battery only makes sense. I gave my mom a silver dollar one time for her birthday. But I screwed it up and was off by one year from her birth year. She said it made it more “special”
@jeffreywsnyder-I’m glad you mentioned the ‘Dud’ dilemma. I have two still in the box, so now I need to check them out! In memory of Elvis, RIP, whose passing date was 08•16, the same day as Aretha,… Anyway, Thank You, Thank You Very Much!!.. A Huba, Huba!!
Easy peasy: Irrational numbers are numbers which are not exactly equal to the RATIOS of any two whole numbers; i.e., no fraction (or decimal fraction) will do the job. E.g., pi, the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, is ABOUT 22 / 7 (but not all that close). Shouldn’t take a nerd to understand that – America seems to be dumbing itself down alarmingly.
If you ever wanted to known how many times a Power Bank will charge your device it’s easy to do.
Divide the mAh of the power bank by the mAh of your device battery.
So a 6,000 mAh power bank can charge an iPhoneX which has a 2,716mAh around two times and one/fourth time before the power bank itself needs to be recharged
@craigthom@NoImNotNSA- Although the meh team writers mention this, I will explain how I do it. I connect the sneaker charger from the Micro USB port then run the cable to my plugged USB into the wall { just as I normally do to charge the sneaker charger}. Then take another cable, cram it in the other USB port, run the cable to my cell & stick the Micro USB into the Micro USB port on the cell fone. Wa La!!
@NoImNotNSA@paullaf- as Obama always said in his slogun, “Yes, we can!” As a matter of fact, since I didn’t want to confuse my pupil, I didn’t mention that I plugged the charger to another device I got from meh, a night light, alarm, motion senser thingamagigii, but besides that I’m actually typing this as I’m charging this cell, charging the charger, and charging the night light RIGHT NOW, so if anyone tells you guys different then they’re just stupid, or they can’t relent because of their inflated ego.Yea, i said it!!
@NoImNotNSA@paullaf-WRONG! You CAN charge the night-light, plug the sneaker charger into the night-light then plug your device to the charger, AND even plug another device, like a tablet, or vibrater into the other USB port, or not. I Sure Hope You Aren’t An Electrical Engineer if you can’t figure this out. I’m not trying to be a smart-ass, but I’m serious
So- you take two power banks, hook them to each other, and then plug other things into them. Each power bank will charge the other, plus another thing!
LOVE the Excess Express 10 pack! These are good power packs so I can have one at home, work, car, etc. Plus I have some extras for gifts and/or when I lose one…or two.
@mediocrebot Yes - I would LOVE to pick one - but you’ve used a command option (quantity) as a product descriptor, so I can’t use the /buy command because I can’t tell it “–quantity 2-Pack” (you should have used “option” or something else that’s not a mehdown command option)
@mediocrebot@paullaf When you want to buy multiples of an item using the mehdown slash commands you have to use the command directive “–quantity”.
Today, the options are “2-pack” and “10-Pack” - to use the mehdown slash commands when there are multiple purchase options to buy you have to issue the /buy directive with the modifier that you see on the sale page in order to specify the option you want - it’s usually something like “style” or “color”.
Today they’ve used “quantity” as that modifier. Ergo, when I try to use --quantity where I normally would have used something like --style or --color the API is interpreting that I’m trying to buy multiples, not actually specifying which of the 2 options I want to buy.
I bought the XS last time it was up and they are great! It’s a very big battery pack with a rubberized case in case you drop it. The LED’s work nice too to tell you how much juice remains. It charges my Galaxy S8+ 3 times from 20%.
@jibbyjam1@thebigtverberg- This happened because many, many people don’t want, or need 10 chargers, but around Christmas they will regret that they didn’t buy the 10 pk, so,…
Can someone who bought these last time tell me if it is possible to charge the power bank, and an attached phone, at the same time?
Usually, one can charge the brick, or charge devices, but not both, simultaneously.
(I’m looking for a power bank that charges devices and itself all at once, if you have any recommendations.)
@simssj The search phrase you are looking for is flow-through charging.
Power banks with that feature have at least two DC-DC convertors. The one that charges the internal battery is independent of the one that produces 5 volts on the USB ports, so both can operate at the same time. The best version of this feature can charge the internal battery at full speed while powering the USB ports. This requires more power than will fit through a single standard USB 2.0 port, so that requires either multiple USB2 charging ports or USB-C with PD (power delivery) or QC (Quick Charge).
Earlier in the thread someone complained that these are slow to charge, a sure sign that if they support flow-through charging at all, they don’t do it well.
@hamjudo – Thanks! Good to know! @unksol – Simple: I have a Raspberry Pi that runs a couple of apps in my house, and a small powerbrick makes a cheap UPS (so long as the powerbrick can consume a charge at the same time it’s producing a charge for the attached device.
I have one today that I use that is a solar-charger, but its downside is that it has an on-off switch to the powered ports, so when the Pi is consuming very little power (resting) the powerbrick thinks it’s “charged” and turns itself off.
@simssj@unksol I am going to use these in class with Arduinos. If they have an auto shut off feature, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, maybe even a feature, but only because the challenges are designed to be quick to demonstrate.
We have the students make videos of their projects in action to show to their parents. We have to watch them too. In this application, short is good.
Cutting off power to a Raspberry Pi is not good unless you have gone to a great effort to make the Pi boot off of a read-only SD card.
Note: at least one of the Amazon reviews says that they do flow-through charging. The input current is listed at 1 amp. So as long as your Pi project averages less than 1 amp draw, and the things won’t shut off at the wrong time, then it can be used as UPS.
@paullaf@simssj The power bank supports fast charge on the output ports (where you plug in your phone). The input port is rated at only 1 amp, which tells me that it will draw at most 5 watts.
6000mAh at 3.7 volts is 22 watt hours. Which means it will take at least 4.4 hours to fully charge the power bank.
If it could drive both 5 volt outputs at 2.1 amps simultaneously it could be putting out 20.5 watts. Theoretically it might be able to fully discharge in about 1 hour.
The DC-DC convertors are probably on the order of 85% efficiency. So in practice the discharge time will be less than 1 hour and the charge time will be more than 4.4 hours, assuming the 6000mAh rating is accurate.
@simssj- although I mention this in one of my smarty-pants answers, but I will include these tips {no money is involved}. It may be wise to have the device you’ve attached to the charging charger Off, whether it drains the charging charger thus making the charger merely a conduit, I don’t know, but this would make the process a waste of time & would maybe be better to charge each device seperately. I have yet to find that out. I do charge my sneaker charger to my night light/emergency alarm/motion sensor that I purchased from Meh. by running the cable from the Micro USB port to the USB port on the night-lite. I do this just to keep the damn nite-lite plugged to the wall recepticle. I don’t turn off the nite-lite, but maybe I should. The charger may charge faster with the n-l off!!
@holmesholistic power banks like this one have USB ports for you to plug in whatever device you want to charge (with your own USB lightning cable for an Apple). They don’t discriminate, even if it is an Apple device!
I got the 9000 mAh , Nice battery pack . One of them was a dud, but i had 3 others, which is nice. I use one , sold one (not the dud), and have one spare. They dont do “flow charging” (just learned that). They also take HOURS to fully charge. I thought the first one was a dud because of that, it was just taking its time. Im happy with them. if i hadnt already brought them i would buy them now. the 10 for 36 is a great deal for these. Thats 3.60 per battery.
I barely use my 10,000mah battery bank. Wtf would I do with 2 6000mah banks, much less TEN of them?!? Gifts you say? I don’t have that many family or friends.
Since you apparently missed my BRILLIANT suggestions above:

@decoratedwarvet @NoImNotNSA Are you sure you can charge a device while charging the battery? That is usually not the case.

@craigthom @NoImNotNSA- Although the meh team writers mention this, I will explain how I do it.
@simssj why? If you can charge the bank you can charge the device directly
@hamjudo @simssj These are NOT slow to charge. They support Fast Charging on my S8+
@simssj @unksol I am going to use these in class with Arduinos.
@paullaf @simssj The power bank supports fast charge on the output ports (where you plug in your phone).
@hamjudo @paullaf @simssj
Do you guys speak English?
@hamjudo @jeffreywsnyder @paullaf @simssj- No, Senior, No Engless!!
@decoratedwarvet @jeffreywsnyder @paullaf @simssj English is not really my thing.
Can I charge iPad or iPhone as well as non-Appledevices?
@holmesholistic power banks like this one have USB ports for you to plug in whatever device you want to charge (with your own USB lightning cable for an Apple). They don’t discriminate, even if it is an Apple device!
@holmesholistic On amazon in the reviews someone posted the different mAhs you needed to charge a bunch of different things.
@holmesholistic @mayberrym Yes I love these things. I posted below how much I charged my S8+ with it on a single charge.
@goldnectar
Since you apparently missed my BRILLIANT suggestions above:
ELABORATED QUOTE:
Order them. They make GREAT tips for hairdressers, barbers, wait staff, etc.
It’s a SCIENTIFIC FACT that gift items are much more appreciated and remembered than money.
Wait staff that use the electronic order pads SEEM to love our gifts of boxes of 12 multicolored ball point pens with capacitive stylus tips for touchscreens purchased from Amazon, like THESE:

Yup, I am a generous person…I am all about giving. (Quoted from Greg Gutfeld)
(I just made up the “scientific fact” part, but it DOES sound reasonable…)
Almost forgot to add:
I always fully charge the power banks before giving them, partly to make sure they work, but also because it might not occur to the receipt to do so.
Profanity in advertising copy. Meh
Power Banks … Yeh!
I bought the 4-pack of 9k mAH packs on Morningsave. Nice price with VMP, and one pack per member of by household.
Why don’t nightly deals get cheaper as we approach midnight? We’re all here waiting on the next thing anyway. Sell, fools, sell!
