@sjk3 Agreed give us a break with the 2 hour bullshit that means the IRK bag is next good luck getting one of those while looking for fire hydrants or cars in the Capcha bullshit the people that know how to navigate that seem to get multiple bags I’ve been trying for years to get one and get pissed every single time.
@candiedisilvio1 100 feet of direct line tracking. If you can’t see your dog 100 feet away, then this isn’t going to help you. (I apologize if you are blind.)
@candiedisilvio1 Only if you give the dog a Phone. But then, you wouldn’t need these. You could just use the “Find iPhone” feature (assuming it’s an Apple) and it would tell you where the dog is and you could “ping” him. Would work if you taught him that the ping sound means “Supper Time”
The sad story is that these came out way first then the tiles. I got one in 2014. It started in indiegogo .It really works great and pops up on the gps in the there app. There are other trackr models that sound way louder. i have mine still and it never stopped working
only changed battery twice.
@worldcup1994 I “crowdfunded” a similar one (not this brand) around that same time. What I ended up with was a donation to some young guys who failed at business.
@worldcup1994 Yeah, I crowd funded them originally, bought two 5-packs. I then sold one pack on eBay a year later for a pretty penny and kept the other. I think my favorite issue was: my phone had occasional bluetooth issues. I had a tracker on my water bottle, and subsequently lost both the bottle AND the trackr because my bluetooth shat the bed. Still have a few around the house not doing anything…
Range: Bluetooth range, up to 100 feet. Obstacles such as walls or furniture may affect the range
Compatibility: iOS 9+, Android 4.4+
What’s In The Box?
2x TrackR Pixel Bluetooth Tracking Devices
2x Key loops and double-sided 3M adhesives (One Per Pixel)
2x User-replaceable CR2016 batteries (Installed In Each Pixel)
I thought these were the “disposable” kind but it turns out they do have replaceable batteries so could be OK if you want to try a bluetooth finder for cheap!
If you’re out of range, you can “rely on the global network of TrackR app users” to help you find it. That sounds neat.
I feel like even in a large city, it’d be extremely unlikely for your device to end up anywhere near another owner of these… much less an average city.
I’ve never imagined a good use for these BT tracker devices in my life. But… since everyone else seems to be buying them, I guess I should too. Gotta fit in and all that, right?
@ruouttaurmind I bought my “Tile” stuff about 2 weeks after I lost my second set of truck keys. (plus it was a BB deal of the day, but not near as cheap as these.) I know it’s around the house somewhere. (yeah, my house is messy.)
@pmarin I can’t even speculate how long it’s been since I’ve lost my keys. I guess I’m a creature of habit, and always put them in the same place the moment I walk in the door (home and office).
Maybe useful for those all to common moments when I lose my mind?
@ruouttaurmind I bought the Tile ones because (a) my wife keeps failing to put the car keys back on the rack, and (b) I keep losing my phone. One of the nice features of the Tile is that it can make the phone ring (provided the app is running…). Between the two of our bad habits, I’ve been using it a couple of times a week.
Just bought two sets. One to go on my keys the other to go on my phone… you know, so they can find each other.
The other set for so my wife can do the same thing.
On june 13th i bought an 8 pack on here i used 2 so far ,the app works well,
@mellowirishgent sorry 8/$20.00
Amazon has a 5 pack for $15.65. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0766DSZFD/
@ESQuireTech
wow thats odd
they have sold by amazon
3pack for $37
5pack for $15.65
8pack for $75
i wonder who amazon is price matching to get that 15.65
Two hours between deals? Meh has jumped the shark and is going downhill.
@sjk3 What’s really weird is that it has a 12-minute timer when the item first went up. Then it was replaced with a message about 4pm.

@mellowirishgent @sjk3 I score mine with a mobile browser, the captcha is just a checkbox
You may have failed CAPTCHA but on the upside, you’re less of a human.
@mellowirishgent @sjk3 @xterraguy my captcha is still just as annoying on a mobile browser. Not a checkbox. And harder to see the fire hydrants.
As a fellow robot, I understand your pain.
I still havent even opened the 8 pack from a few weeks back
In for 3 sets…we are getting older and we lose things a LOT. Now if I could just find my phone to use the app…
Do you think it would be good for lost dogs?

I bought two blacks, got two whites. I’m offended and dissapointed.
@israelagm Don’t get offended! Time to get proactive!
@israelagm Same here… Disappointing!

Mehbe not bad but I just adopted the Tile system.
I thought these were the “disposable” kind but it turns out they do have replaceable batteries so could be OK if you want to try a bluetooth finder for cheap!
I feel like even in a large city, it’d be extremely unlikely for your device to end up anywhere near another owner of these… much less an average city.
Those sharp-edged keys (yah, I get it is photoshopped) against the phone display are making me cringe!
I bought the 8 pack a few weeks ago and these work great!
Why not? Also this code should be a good one…
/giphy beastly-ardent-dracula
…I’m actually a little disappointed at the gif
@geekahedron Maybe you know, but if you hit edit & save repeatedly, you’ll get a random gif each time.
I often farm a bit to try and find a better image.
It won’t let me buy them. “OOPS, SORRY. YOU CAN’T BUY ANY MORE OF THESE.”
Did the counter just roll over and go to 99:? Think so.
We know they had the 1 1/2 hour lunch break for that Kindle. Now I guess it’s afternoon martini time?
I’ve never imagined a good use for these BT tracker devices in my life. But… since everyone else seems to be buying them, I guess I should too. Gotta fit in and all that, right?

@ruouttaurmind If you have one of these on your mind, let me know when you figure out how to attach it!
@phendrick
These are garbage. The batteries are really hard to replace. Once I got it replaced the battery ran out in 2 weeks.
I’ve used one of my eight pack, and it works well. I use it as a tether so I get an alert on my phone when in too far from my backpack.
The sound they make is not very loud, but that’s not what I use it for.
Just bought two sets. One to go on my keys the other to go on my phone… you know, so they can find each other.
The other set for so my wife can do the same thing.
