These days, saying “a brand you heard of” means that some private capital firm has bought the company, loaded it up with debt, and sold off anything of value to the highest bidder, including the brand name.
@guybrush01 I doubt JVC has been acquired by that, but they’re a big company with a marketing department full of the usual wing-tipped Ferengi, so these earbuds are probably generic earbuds with JVC branding printed on, imported by the truckload from some Alibaba vendor.
@guybrush01 Japanese companies don’t tend to get bought out by US private capital firms. I’ve owned JVC speakers in the past. The issue is that everyone is going to “true wireless” ear buds. So these are considered “obsolete”.
I guessed the answer to the riddle for ‘A Dangerously Stupid Dog Joke’ cross breed was going to be “a St. Bearnaise dog”, but then somehow I was wrong.
@guybrush01, good idea, but he might want Red 🩸Buds!! Why? Because Black are hard to find at night,…believe me, I know!! Just trying to help, so, please, don’t shoot, or kill the messenger!
@guybrush01@tssorrells, late? No problem, but I was just trying to help guybrush01 as he posted that he would likely buy & give his nephew the earbuds, then ended by posting that he was buying ‘Black’ buds. That prompted my comment. What you buy for yourself is up to you, but this is generic advice that can apply to you, or anyone. BTW, since you did buy red, then the advice to you isn’t necessary; it doesn’t apply. I’m glad your choice fit my recommendation!
The life expectancy of my wireless earbuds is shorter than the warranty period on this item. Good thing there will be a spare pair in a drawer somewhere in my house
I must have got something totally different than the dude who said these have deep base. The sound output is pretty sad. I will say, they fit snuggly and for indoor, quiet environments, they perform fine. The battery life has been pretty good so far. But they are quiet.
My similar set was just munched on by our puppy the other day. He destroyed only the right bud, though, so they still work for mono use (thanks for that, buddy). After reviewing this deal, I decided that for the same price, I’d rather have one well-reviewed set from a brand I know and trust for stellar products than two with only a few mediocre reviews from a brand I know for recently providing only “decent” stuff. Sorry, meh. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRMFG8H
Is this another one of those, “Let’s post another set of super-garbage eardungs in an attempt to finally anger the remaining VMPs to give it up”? Yeah, right. AS IF! WE’LL NEVER GIVE UP OUR VMP!!! NEVER!!!
I’ve used these while mowing outside and can barely hear the podcasts on full volume. I switched to an old pair of earbuds and the volume was great at half. I guess you get what you pay for. Can these be returned?

But hey meh, you do you.

@phendrick Same here. I guess their version DOES work better.
@Kyeh nah…
Deep bass from little ear buds means they’ll probably be cracked and sound distorted in a month or two.
Feh. But I can put them in my nephews’ Easter baskets

@guybrush01 It worked! Your order number is: gauche-lucid-roll

@1DisabledWarVet @guybrush01 I’m very late on this, but that’s exactly why I ordered red!

Whenever I hear “Xtreme” I think about this:
@Knightp Wow. Been a while since I’ve thought about this
@Knightp Haha, I liked the graphic of the sharkasaurus – I imagined a dinosaur with a shark head, not one with an entire shark for a head!
Can I return them - unhappy with their performance.

The red ones are sold out but I sprang for the black ones: weepy-ungrateful-whale

Look at the model number. Are they ripping off a beer company’s slogan?
@lonocat The model numbers Meh puts on products they sell are usually jokes.
Great sound for the price if you like deep base. And, controls simple and easy to use.

I would not buy these again. They don’t fit well, the control unit is huge, the battery charge is about 6 hours tops.
