I would have given this product 5 stars, but the light on the bottom never shuts off! I have a glass shelf where this sits next to my bed, so when its plugged, THE ENTIRE MASTER BEDROOM IS LIT UP!!!
@paulberg@stinks exactly- I bought one of the webcams and found out the power light was painfully bright- covered with black tap I can still see it, but no longer unbearable
@paulberg@sling_Shot70@stinks
The red power light and the green video-on light were both way too bright on one of the webcams I bought. I’m going to try the tape trick.
So it needs a USB charging port somewhere to power it, and it claims to draw up to 10W and charge up[ to 10W, when the output is specifically given as 5V 1A, which is 5W. And there appears to be no provision for charging anything that doesn’t use the inductive pad.
Sounds like yet another case of the marketing people not even being in the same book with the engineering and manufacturing folks, let alone on the same page. And that assumes that the “engineering and manufacturing” people were actually in the same company, which seems unlikely.
Meh. They probably work well enough to charge a Qi phone overnight, if you have a decent power brick to supply them from. I’ll keep using the cable, TYVM.
The description calls these “alarm clocks that charge your other alarm clock,” but I can’t find anything that says they have an alarm of their own. They’re just clocks that charge my alarm clock.
So, no power brick, apparently no alarm, no demonstrable fast charge option given the power specs, and a form factor that eats more space than it really needs. Sounds like they ran a good design through the NewAndImproved!er and got back something with 80% more Less. (“Less” is a Feature again.)
Sell me the power supply. I would consider a charging pad if it came with the supply but I’m never going to buy a charging pad then go buy a power supply for it.
@blaineg
It looks like it would take a bunch of those to cover that glaring base.
One of the strips might do for the clock display, but I think the real solution is to let these get sold to somebody else. And so far, it looks like there are a bunch of us taking that approach.
I bought a pair of these in July 2020 for the same price. PITA to set the clock, one gave up the ghost after about 18 months. I’m gullible, but I won’t ask for do-overs on this one!
This product ruined my iPhone XR: Phone battery gets very warm and discharges at a rapid rate!!! Please send me return authorization ASAP or pay for my iPhone XR!!!
You misspelled $18
@thechinglish So did Amazon
Feature or bug? You decide.
Ymmv.
@stinks - Thanks for posting this. Definitely a non-starter for me. Meh!
Waitaminute… Your pic appears to show a lit-up base under the main body portion. The pics in this listing show no such feature. Different designs?
@stinks - Never mind. Saw more pics on the Amazon listing. Pass.
@stinks I used black electrical tape to cover these lights.

Are these slap shot proof? Ask for the hockey lover in my life.
My phone displays a big ass clock on its face when charging - otherwise I would definitely pay $18 for these
@jmhsrv & my big ass clock face is really dim, they way I like it. This one looks a little too bright.

@algae1221 Good point! False advertising @meh Who’s listening?

Just what I need, more clocks to set.
Can I charge my MehrethonPhone on this? Asking for a friend…

@unksol agreed. Except for me I won’t even buy another charging pad without the charger/cable.

Here’s a step short of electrical tape.

I love it! Will use in living room to charge and so others can when they are over too
Where do the wires plug in?
@yakkoTDI
Sorry, it’s not ready for that kind of commitment yet.
Ooooh.

Would this be good to have in the bathroom?
I bring a nightlight for the bathroom when I travel because I get confused in a new place in the middle of the night.
