@guybrush01 If shit really hits the fan, hopefully Meh will grant us a couple weeks of meh-button amnesty in the same way that so many of us are getting two weeks of paid leave if we get sick.
So one Amazon reviewer indicated they’re temperature neutral, if not remaining slightly cool… That takes care of one concern – I can’t do memory foam, it gets way too hot for me.
Remaining unanswered question: Is this a soft or a firm pillow?
@the_inevitable Second that. It would help me if this could be done. The last set of bamboo pillows bought here were absolute junk with material that looked and felt like ripped-up carpet pad.
I can’t tell how those words are supposed to be grouped.
Are these coastal, “comfort zero”, “gel fiber” pillows?
Are they “coastal comfort zero”, “gel”, “fiber” pillows?
Is it all one crazy phrase like they’re made of the fibers of a gel that’s guaranteed not to have any coastal comfort?
@phendrick I’m not sure “Fake Spot” is that accurate. One of my books is on Amazon and I know the comments were from real people, but FS gave kind of a wonky analysis.
@ParadisePete@radi0j0hn Yeah, but I see the reviewmeta data in your link is based on 7 reviews, where the Amazon listing shows 12 reviews, so they tossed 5 out of 12, or about 42% of the reviews, I guess they thought those were fake. 7 out of 12 would be an F, in the classes I taught. Whatever…
@ParadisePete@phendrick@radi0j0hn If you check Amazon, there are only 7 actual reviews. There are an additional 5 ratings that don’t actually have reviews written for them. No way to tell if those ratings are legitimate or not. For what it’s worth, ReviewMeta feels that the reviews that are available are legit: “0% of potentially unnatural reviews removed.”
As for Fakespot, the main reason for the F seems to simply be a lack of reviews: “Insufficient reliable reviews” is listed as the primary factor in their rating. In my book that should be an N/A, but oh well. They feel the least authentic review is “Very nice overall! Super soft and comfortable. Just wish for a little more filling. Would still purchase again.” That seems reasonably authentic to me, but judge for yourself.
If you do want to pick these up, the main consistent thread through the scant reviews seems to be that the king size is a little under filled. There were three reviews complaining about that (including the “inauthentic” one above,) all bought the king size and one person specifically mentioned it wasn’t an issue with the queen version they bought previously. I’d let that be the main take away.
@hchavers well… the amazon description does state that these pillows are a great choice for people who suffer from “other respiratory issues.”
Maybe these will help out later.
Glass half full attitude.
We need an official statement from the seller or the manufacturer. Otherwise, in typical misleading marketing form, they’re saying something they know we think means something, but legally it doesn’t, and when the product doesn’t exhibit that assumed behavior, consumers have no recourse.
So tell us, Meh employees. What does zero shift actually mean?
@Stumpy91 I agree - I bought them at Morningsave as well and they are still very flat. I put them in the dryer on air fluff and it had no effect. I was wondering if anyone else knew the magic to get these things to actually look like pillows and not placemats.
I don’t know if these will be anywhere near as supportive and adjustable as the one with a water compartment that I found recently, but might as well live dangerously if I’m going to be stuck in the house anyway.
OK, just picked these up today and opened one. I am not sure how it will be for sleeping because even after flopping it around for a while, it isn’t very thick and it seems like it would shift plenty…
But I have to say, I love the floppy heft of it. It will definitely be a great pillow to throw on my lap and might be a good “sofa nap” pillow.
I agree with every negative comment the others have made. These pillows are a joke. Flat as a pancake. No support at all. These were a MAJOR disappointment. If they come up for sale again I’ll be adding copious amounts of negativity to the discussion.
I haven’t used these, myself, but I left the opened-box in my living room for 2 months and my cats developed a habit of sleeping on the two pillows cushioned by the cardboard flaps! One seems to really love it! However, after this short time, they seem to have really deflated. I shudder to even go and look at them.
I was hoping for toilet paper…
Where were you guys with the Super Mario references on March 10th, or MAR10 Day??
The entire western hemisphere is literally burning to the ground…
… and I still feel compelled to press the Meh button.
Good job, everyone!

Literally burning to the ground? Yikes, I better get out of here quick.
@lljk can you catch Coronavirus from clicking the meh button if someone else with the virus clicked it first?
@guybrush01 @lljk didn’t you read? these are zero shit…

@ciabelle They’re pretty soft, but still manage to be pretty supportive, I got a pair on morningsave a few weeks back

@nine876 Just this one - rats!
Can you slice one open and post a pic? Gotta be at least one grubby one you can’t sell.

FWIW, Amazon reviews give it a 4.7 rating (out of 5), but FakeSpot gives those ratings an F overall:

@phendrick @radi0j0hn reviewmeta in my experience is more accurate than fake spot. Here’s theirs: https://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B0791LRH2C

Fake reviews are definitely a problem.
You want to see some definite crap in reviews, read the 5-star reviews for this product, then read the 1-star ones, for a definite eye-opener:

I was going to order it, until I looked a little closer.

@kryndis Good analysis. Thanks for the perspective.

@phonepole LOL. A case of “piggy see, piggy do”?
I’d sure like to know a little back-story of both clips (no pun intended).

@Dizavid That is one angry looking hippo.
@Dizavid looks sort of bearish to me.
@Dizavid @wrallredsr Well, we are in a bear market right now.
Pillows to help me sleep? Yeah, like I do that these days. Even Mr. Rogers is infected!
@hchavers well… the amazon description does state that these pillows are a great choice for people who suffer from “other respiratory issues.”

I’ve been using these for a few days and I quite like them! Contrary to the other posts, they are very fluffy and stay fluffy!
Please, somebody enlighten me - what does “zero-shift” mean when describing a pillow? It’s a term I don’t recall seeing before.
@JohnMorris pretty sure it just means “cozy pillow no matter how much you flop around during the night”.
@JohnMorris I think what we need from Meh are some “zero-shit” offerings.
@JohnMorris I think it means the filling material doesn’t shift around inside the shell, so you don’t get a flat spot under your head.
@JohnMorris @UncleRummy No shift, sherlock!
@JohnMorris @UncleRummy that’s what they want you to assume.

Being somewhat shiftless myself, I couldn’t resist …

@stolicat No news celebrities were harmed making this jif. Its fake. lol
One of the odder pieces of meh-fluff in a while

Bought these a couple of weeks ago at Morningsave. I’m not sure I’d say they are “plush”. Maybe I need a better fluffer.
@Stumpy91 I agree - I bought them at Morningsave as well and they are still very flat. I put them in the dryer on air fluff and it had no effect. I was wondering if anyone else knew the magic to get these things to actually look like pillows and not placemats.

These pillows are FLAT, no volume at all - very disappointing - do NOT buy! It’s like sleeping on a placemat.
@bayvista04 Try fluffing the crap out of them. Mine got plenty of volume.
An absolute joke these pillows are. They are like a folded sheet
Got these today. They suck. They’re worse than 10 dollar ikea pillows.
@lowlypeon I agree. They’re more of a flat gel blob than a pillow. They go in the trash, not on my bed.
What a total waste of money. Might as well sleep right on the bed with how flat these are.
I’m not kidding, these pillows are amazing! I hope Meh sells more of them if everyone else thinks they’re bad!
I don’t know if these will be anywhere near as supportive and adjustable as the one with a water compartment that I found recently, but might as well live dangerously if I’m going to be stuck in the house anyway.

Guaranteed coronavirus free?
Well, ain’t a bad price for some pillows that hopefully last longer than the cheap target ones that go flat after a month or two.
/giphy juicy-smelly-pie
hope this sale isn’t run by the guys who did the last drone sale…
@fastharrydotcom Did you see where @ChadP is giving everybody coupons from that sale?
Isn’t the idea in this sale for everybody to get two of the same thing? They’re very good at that.
Bacon mustache Mario.
There a lot of other ways I could have wasted $29. way too flat, the best option may be to put 2 inside the pillowcase together.

I bought these too and yeah, they’re crap. The only bright side is that with these pillows, my dog can’t do this:

UPDATE: These pillows inflated after a while and have become my bed pillows. Lemme know when you sells these again.
