@Kyeh Depends on his mood. Sometimes he is playful and then other times he wants to be left alone. He occasionally likes it when I tickle him in the stomach.
It’s difficult to catch him on video because, once he sees my phone, he stops doing whatever it is I want to get a video. For example, he has a nice fluffy bed in his cage and it’s so cute when he’s sleeping in it. But as soon as I take out my phone to snap a video or still photo, he immediately jumps out of his bed. I’ve had him for 10 or 11 years now and never been able to get that photo.
Can you say “camouflage for open container in reach of driver”? Or “bottled beer on Galveston beach”? Call me a curmudgeon, but I know what they’ll really be used for.
I got one of each the last time Meh offered these a little over a year ago. Product seems decent enough, but beware if Meh hasn’t learned their lesson about shipping these. They sent me both in just a thin padded envelope with nothing between them, which led to them getting dinged up and scratching each other all to hell. I will say they did refund me, but still something to keep in mind, especially if your plan is to order multiples for gifts or something like that.

@hchavers High-priced, metal koozies - with a spring in the bottom, in the case of the can keeper.
They might keep a can cold longer than a regular koozie, but I honestly don’t see them being worth this much, at least not to me. Other people’s priorities may vary.
@craigcush@haydesigner The ones from Reduce hold more beverage (but not the bottle or can it comes in), and can be had for less than this regularly. Oh, and their lids seal pretty well, too. (There are others that seal tight. I have some.)
@werehatrackI absolutely LOVE my Reduce mugs!! I legit have 4 of them, with 3 of them being the 50oz mug! (The only bad part is that they won’t fit into cup holders.)
@werehatrack It was an honest question, the description does not state yes or no. I tend not to ask questions if I know the answers, especially when the answer will make or break a purchase.
I asked because the BottleKeeper says it DOES seal the bottle, but the CanKeeper was mum on the subject.
@Kyeh@onae@PooltoyWolf@werehatrack the description and reviews on Amazon don’t mention that, so I’d guess no…if it did at all u know they’d be hyping it. It’s just a simple slide-to-close lid (which is spill-proof but not leak/waterproof), so that wouldn’t keep much carbonation in.
@Kyeh@onae@PooltoyWolf@TimW I’ve seen things that claimed to be able to reseal a can in the past, all the way back to the '80s, and while they’d all reduce or prevent liquids from escaping once the beverage was flat, none would keep the carbonation in. In fact, this would be a first if it can even maintain the seal of the liquids while the contents are still carbonated. The extra volume of the inside of the container is going to bleed the pressure down, and the carbonation off, no matter what else happens - and a partially emptied can has more volume for carbonation to escape the liquid. The pressure in those unopened cans is typically in the range of 15 to 25 psi at fridge temp, 30 to 50 psi at room temp, and can spike much higher when agitated. That’s actually a lot of force on the lid of the container.
@Kyeh@onae@TimW@werehatrack I might be a niche case but I could honestly care less about the carbonation, at least over the long term (several hours). I’m primarily concerned about the ability to keep the liquid beverage confined to the can under normal use conditions (bumps, sloshing, etc.)
@PooltoyWolf The can just sits snug against the lid, there’s no positive seal, and the slide-cover isn’t liquid-tight either. Reviews mention that a few drops of beverage (at a minimum) escape into the container with each use, which confirms that they reduce internal spillage pretty well but aren’t really sealed. I’d expect them to be decent at keeping the drink from getting all over everything as long as it doesn’t get knocked over and not immediately retrieved. They’re pretty much just like most of the vacuum-insulated tumblers with the slide-open lids, except these are intended to have a can under the lid.
@Kyeh@onae@PooltoyWolf@TimW@werehatrack I have the cankeeper from a prior Meh and it is not liquid tight, more like splash proof. It does insulate, but not really any better than can koozie. It is more troublesome to use than a can koozie too. So unless you are trying to hide the label of your can, not really recommended.
I bought these and they arrived a few days ago. Got one for each of my adult sons. We went boating yesterday, and they REALLY like them! Honestly when I saw what it was after I opened the package, it looked pretty gimmicky, but my (engineer) son is actually very impressed. They used them for hard seltzer cans (tall and skinny) and regular beer cans and tall beer cans (IPA) and they stayed leak proof and cold while on the boat in hot weather. I actually came back on here to see if I could get more, because everyone who was on the boat yesterday wants one!

@tweezak Awww, cute bird. @cengland0, would you bird tolerate that?

@cengland0
Hates the paparazzi, huh?
@Kyeh LOL, cute.
@cengland0 @Kyeh They’re selling fake security cameras over on side deal.
Oh, right…
@cengland0 @Kyeh Well, I was guessing since it came up as perfumed, it’s probably gassed and nearly unconscious.
@cengland0 @tweezak No! Its little feet are moving. And giphy is never that accurate.
If your “beverage” is getting cold, you ain’t drinking fast enough.
@marvelljones If your beverage is getting cold, you’re drinking the wrong stuff.
@marvelljones exactly. Where is the 40oz version?
Oops. This is what I meant: If your “beverage” is getting warm, you ain’t drinking fast enough.
@goldnectar Does anyone drink 40s anymore? Do they still make Laser? I might be showing my age on that one…
Had to see what giphy would produce on this one.
/giphy velvety-puzzled-pudding
@ACraigL Is that from the new movie American Pudding?
@detailer Pudding on the Ritz, I think.
I’ll use the yellow one to hold my pee!
@awk If only R.Kelly would’ve thought of that
@awk @onae I bet he’d like the grape color too.
@awk @onae drip drip drip.

My koozie works just fine.
@Star2236 TWSS!

@werehatrack Your 200W vape-monster?
@werehatrack A clean sample for your P.O.?
@mike808 Not my vape. No got, don’t want, wouldn’t use. And no supervision, so no samples.
@werehatrack less conspicuous than my paper bag.
@goldnectar
Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
Yep, that’s the conclusion I came to, as well. Particularly for the bottle type.

Just what I need to keep my balls cool.
@yakkoTDI Better than an antique milk glass huevador?
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI I had to look that one up:
Huevador
@rpstrong @werehatrack It is nuts that more people do not use a huevador.
@rpstrong @werehatrack @yakkoTDI
Did you read down to the bottom of that page? Nuts is right, in several ways.
@Kyeh @werehatrack @yakkoTDI The terms of sale and delivery were - unique.
@yakkoTDI, a hammer’ll keep your testicles cool! I was just pulling your leg, or rather, your treasured balls!!
The “personal hydration” bottles fad has gone insane.
@radi0j0hn These are more of an attempt to look like a personal hydration bottle while actually being something that is kind of the opposite of that.
@radi0j0hn @werehatrack finally a solution to my drinking problem at the gym!
@radi0j0hn These are meant to hide that you are drinking beer in public.
@alose @radi0j0hn We use crayons on a paper bag.Now that’s personal
@alose Well, now, at least that’s useful.
I predict Meh’s “Sold Out” streak as ended with these high-priced, plastic-wrapped koozie.
@hchavers High-priced, metal koozies - with a spring in the bottom, in the case of the can keeper.

I’m really not sure if I just bought 2 or 4
@simtel20… yes.
Both Amazon and meh are over priced for what they are hard pass.
Remember Bubba, works for years at half the price.
@craigcush And Bubba is overpriced as it is.
@craigcush @haydesigner The ones from Reduce hold more beverage (but not the bottle or can it comes in), and can be had for less than this regularly. Oh, and their lids seal pretty well, too. (There are others that seal tight. I have some.)
@craigcush @haydesigner I have a yeti can insulator. Overpriced indeed!
@werehatrack I absolutely LOVE my Reduce mugs!! I legit have 4 of them, with 3 of them being the 50oz mug! (The only bad part is that they won’t fit into cup holders.)
[Got them all at Target, in case anyone wonders.]

The beach drinker in me needed this.
I saw something about a guy getting drafted by an NFL team and he said he was “balling his eyes out.” TMI, dude.

Margarita worthy!
And now begins the competition to see if there is an even more regrettable item put up for sale here for the rest of the year.
@werehatrack
I’m sure we ain’t seen nothing yet.
I think this is wrong.
I think there are 13^2 + 14 * 13 / 2 + 14 * 13 /2
= 169 + 91 + 91
= 351 possible combinations if one buys a single two pack
If you are allowing multiple purchases, then there a LOT of combinations possible.
/giphy nerds!
Ok, but will they keep my fizzy drink fizzy? I really just want it so I can ration out Red Bull and not feel forced to waste half a can everytime.
@onae If you are healthy and properly nourished, you don’t need Red Bull. Skip the Hot Pockets too.
@radi0j0hn Yeah, I’ve been meaning to go consult a doctor about about a number of things, poor sleep and fatigue being two of them
I can count on one hand how many Hot Pockets I’ve had in my life though, more of a Pop Tarts kinda guy
Does the CanKeeper seal the can when closed?
@PooltoyWolf I will assume that’s a rhetorical question with humorous intent.
@PooltoyWolf @werehatrack No, I’d like to know too, if the drink will stay fizzy when the lid’s closed.
@Kyeh @PooltoyWolf Not a bleeding chance.
@Kyeh @PooltoyWolf @werehatrack Choo choo! I’m hoping on this thread as a third and starting a train (or a really confused conga line)
@werehatrack It was an honest question, the description does not state yes or no. I tend not to ask questions if I know the answers, especially when the answer will make or break a purchase.

I’ll stick with the tumblers.
@werehatrack I would also find it tedious to have to rinse out sticky contents after every use.

Bought them and never received them.
