These are great for storing in the refrigerator. They are also functional when the lights go out. You open your refrigerator, turn on the battery powered flashlight stored within, and use it to locate the other batteries in your refrigerator. Perhaps the most useful single item (times 2!!) ever sold at Meh.
@ciabelle Nice! Though I feel like gungbungadung extends it a bit to also include “doing something really stupid” in addition to “doing something suicidal” (eg: breaking glass that is only supposed to be broken in case of emergency)
@jmbunkin Just saying, in emergencies, I get stressed, I get tense. A multispeed personal massager would be really nice to have while I’m waiting for the tow truck.
They could then have called it a 6-in-1 emergency tool.
@wew You know who seems to be stressed out and tense all the time? The President. And I think most of us, regardless of political leanings, don’t want him stressed out and tense all the time.
If each of us sends him a multispeed personal massager, I think that would be sending a powerful message.
Just trying to do my part spreading love.
(I don’t feel too bad about posting that now that the thread is hidden).
@cbl_wv I detest devices that require D-cells. Rechargeable is good. As long as it isn’t NiCd.
And this is the type of device that sits in your glove box… eventually getting ruined if it uses Alkaline batteries when they inevitably leak. They always do.
@fastharry where did you find Costco/Kirkland D-cell batteries? Around us Costco only sells AAA & AA Kirkland cells. They sell all common Duracells however.
Rumor has long had it Duracell makes Costco/Kirkland batteries anyway.
After 20 years of using both brands and reading others’ experience, we have found no difference whatsoever in either brand’s propensity to leak. All commonly available alkaline batteries eventually leak.
For this reason, (and arrogant Costco’s decision to go asinine 72 pack size) we’ve largely converted over to the latest gen Panasonic Eneloops wherever possible.
2 bucks or less per cell vs 25 cents or so for brand name Alkaline. But you get 100s of re-uses in the real world, especially with a top notch smart charger-tester.
And even going back to the original gen Eneloop before Panasonic bought Sanyo, they’ve never leaked. They don’t use liquid electrolyte like Alkalines. And the latest gen Eneloop holds a charge great on the shelf.
The downside? Rarely, some older, less well engineered devices aren’t as happy with their lower 1.2 volt rating. But we no longer have any of those devices.
I’m buying…I have an Alkaline battery unit…but Li-ION stands up to cold way better…I’ll take the shot and charge them…
OPERATING TEMPERATURE: Lithium batteries perform even in the most extreme temperatures, making lithium batteries perfect for outdoor devices. Lithium batteries operate in extremely cold climates or extremely hot climates where alkaline batteries cease to function.
Safety light for the car… check.
Window hammer though… on an item I’d probably store in my trunk? Ditto seat belt cutter? Thing is too large and clunky to keep in the cabin with me and my yoots, so I think not, Meh.
@rpstrong assuming those watt ratings really are power consumption and not a facsimile for output.
But given the email dialog I just had with a representive at the originator’s site about something else, I’d guess it probably was sloppiness. The guy was a bit of an ass and oblivious to his broken website.
Meh had something like this previously, which I purchased - I discovered that the body was about the thickness and strength of a toilet paper tube. The window just laughed at it. How about a weight (or a picture of this thing successfully knocking a hole in anything)?
Ordered one of each for my car and my hubs’s truck - after having been in three car accidents last year (none of which were my fault), two of which caused my vehicle to flip and hang me upside down by the seatbelt…I think this is a requirement.

I want to put a damn photo in here but I don’t know how to do it. It has bewbs (covered, but obvs nipplage) so I don’t know if I can post it in the community. I have a backup one, though if y’all tell me how to do the damn image insertion.
@sreing@lovelyladybumps I think you’ll find the community is pretty relaxed about hotsy totsy material, within reason. That said, let’s take a looksie!
@LovelyLadyBumps why is it that women are quick to say the number of accidents they were in then very quickly state they were not your fault? My wife does the same thing, personally I swear they were her fault and she is just trying to cover up the truth. Trust me our insurance knows who’s fault it was and her explination hasn’t stopped the insurance from going up.
/this is how you help…@LovelyLadyBumps the way to put a pic, giphy, or other things is…when you are in the reply box, hit the foward slash…and options pop up…pick one, and them insert text… /
@mike808 something weird happened with the list numbering, but that is a mostly surprising list for what it excludes. Guessing that it is “Metro” rather than city-proper has something to do with it.

True story.
@shahnm You can even use it to break up the ice around the batteries in your freezer!
@skemmehs Sorry, but there’s already a term for what you described in today’s write-up. “L’appel du vide” or “The call of the void”
@ciabelle Nice! Though I feel like gungbungadung extends it a bit to also include “doing something really stupid” in addition to “doing something suicidal” (eg: breaking glass that is only supposed to be broken in case of emergency)
@ciabelle In English also called a “dark impulse.” Less romantic, but apt.

@awk Looks like that gang bang gave you crabs…
@shahnm What came first?
@awk It’s good to be the King… crab.
@mehcuda67 Don’t you mean “who”…?
Or are we having a pornographic Abbott and Costello moment?
Does it vibrate? It looks like it should vibrate.
@wew Think you’ll have to look elsewhere,sorry

@narfcake Awesome!!!
If there was ever a product that should be running on D-cell batteries rather than needing a USB charger, this would be it. Meh.
@cbl_wv I detest devices that require D-cells. Rechargeable is good. As long as it isn’t NiCd.
And this is the type of device that sits in your glove box… eventually getting ruined if it uses Alkaline batteries when they inevitably leak. They always do.
@RedOak esp if you are running Costco batteries…Just ruined 2 flashlights for me…

@fastharry I hear these have less 'splosions too!
@therealjrn unless you short one, then things get impressive.
@fastharry thanks. Clearly that is the product originator since both the video and warranty link at Meh go there.
Oddly, that product page does not appear to show a warranty, unlike the 1-year coverage shown here.

25.48 each on QVC. The reviews are Meh. Hopefully Meh doesn’t have a lot of these otherwise we will see them in a few weeks or so.

@narfcake Maths are hard…
@narfcake wildy different LED efficiencies?
The surface mounted one also adds a 6th function - heat generation.
@RedOak Different efficiencies would affect the light output, not the power consumption (watts).
@rpstrong assuming those watt ratings really are power consumption and not a facsimile for output.
But given the email dialog I just had with a representive at the originator’s site about something else, I’d guess it probably was sloppiness. The guy was a bit of an ass and oblivious to his broken website.
@RedOak The wattage on the LED is usually the consumption. So with that said:
3.7v @ 2A (2000 mA) = 7.4w total battery capacity.
7.4w / 2w != 4 hours.
7.4w / 1w != 2 hours.
2 for!!!

@richferg There is a video demonstrating it in the specs that you can click on.
I’ve lived without this ok…so far.
@werekong Update us if that changes. Or I guess ask your next of kin to.
@dave Will do…I’m just glad you’re so concerned.
@dave A Meh sentiment, if ever there was one…

Looks like it is selling well in CA… I mean, it’s a given that it would, with all of the car break-ins and all…
@enpop1 Albequerque, NM wants to have a word with you.
10 metro areas with the highest rates of car theft in the US
@mike808 something weird happened with the list numbering, but that is a mostly surprising list for what it excludes. Guessing that it is “Metro” rather than city-proper has something to do with it.
So this thing has rechargeable batteries. How long do they hold a charge while sitting unused in your trunk?
It would suck to need it and find out you should have recharged it last week.
@mike808 If it’s in your trunk it won’t be ready when you need it anyway.
Not to be confused with the handsome man and slab of wood for sale. This was my favorite part of today so far.
