I bought an aluminum griddle from this company a couple of years ago; its pretty nice. We do most of our cooking in 100 year old cast iron skillets and have several, or I would buy these. The iron ones are quite heavy, I can see where the light weight would be an advantage for some people.
Oh yeah and serious question did they ever dismiss the idea of heated aluminimum causing dimentia? If not I think you should be giving them away for free.
Meh = selling your soul?
@sippinndippin i know Tfal had some issues when over heated, so treat the ceramic coating well. Dont use metal utensils that could scrath the surface and you dont habe to worry for a few years.
@sippinndippin I think the aluminum-dementia link has been pretty well debunked. (Also the link between tooth fillings containing miniscule amounts of mercury and any health problems…)
@sippinndippin MrNews is quite correct; slightly elevated levels of aluminum have been found in the brain cells of dementia patients. This was found to be due to poor metabolism on the part of the cell, e.g., it was collecting there because the cell was not able to get rid of it. Result of cellular degradation, not causal.
I love my 12" lodge, but these are worth a gamble for making my post-steak pan sauce and being able to comfortably pour it out of anything weighing less than 10+ pounds. worst case scenario send the second one out as a gift. in for 1 set.
Supermeh! Why would I buy these when I can get an excellent set of three (different sized) non-stick Tramontina fry pans at Costco for $24 ($21 on sale)? Oh… the colors.
@MrNews Costco’s “commercial” frying pans and the corresponding Sam’s pans are a lot better (a lot thicker aluminum) and not priced that differently from that three pack.
Whoa, nearly every Amazon review is a free vine give away. Will they every actually sell a pan?
Bluetooth and it charges my phone? Sign me up!
Oh wait.
well, I guess I could drink a margarita out of em… but there’s still the salted rim thing.

All the disadvantagesof cheap ceramic coatings AND poor aluminum heat distribution rolled into one! Yippee!
@radi0j0hn Aluminum has excellent heat distribution; that’s why the handles get so frickin’ hot.
Free silver skullet.

@Steve7654 What company makes these 100-year-old skillets? Somewhere in China, I bet.
@phendrick @Steve7654 No true 100-year-old skillets were made in China.

@sippinndippin Even if that turns out to be a problem these pans are coated so your exposure would be minimal.

@sippinndippin You are getting distorted internet hearsay.

I just happened to be up. I was not staying up for this.

PS Reviews say the handle gets extremely hot
@Kidsandliz Bonus cooking surface!

@Kidsandliz I have these on all my cast iron pans, they are great! https://www.amazon.com/Betan-Silicone-Handle-Protecting-Skillets/dp/B074TC1V4K/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1530013268&sr=8-14&keywords=cast+iron+pan+handle+covers
Red and Yellow, Kill a Fellow
Red and Black, Friend of Jack
Red and Silver, Well I’ll Never
@hchavers I love these rhymes because it’s so easy to get them wrong when you need them most. I would remember it as:
Red and yellow, lucky fellow
Red and black, goodbye Jack
Red and silver, Meh delivers
/image coral snake
I prefer to just remember “Snake? No thanks.”
fakespot grade =D…which, in this case, stands for…

I know it’s not a vacuum, but …
This sucks. Goodnight.
I was considering this/these, until I reread the description and realized that cast aluminum isn’t cast iron. Anyone know about cast fishing?
@gertiestn Is that like a casting call?
@awk @gertiestn Cattle call?
@awk @gertiestn @TheFLP Cat Call?
Two pans is useful for making pancakes because it takes way too long to make two people’s worth of pancakes in one pan.
But then it should be two nice cast iron pans, not these monstrosities.
For the most part “make sense” huh?
What does it do to for the leas part?
See what I did there?
we like them it was a good buy
Serious another cooking item?

@MrNews Tramontina makes a non blade item?!
@yakkoTDI Yep: https://www.costco.com/Tramontina-3-piece-Saute-Pans.product.100403378.html
Made in USA! Price went up though…
@MrNews @yakkoTDI Why? Teflon! Yuk!
@jmkiii @MrNews @yakkoTDI yeahbut those are Teflon® Platinum
Will it cook my meals for me and serve it on a platter?
I was thinking of buying a new ceramic coated aluminum pan anyway.
