I don’t have this exact model, but something very similar attached to my headboard. It is simultaneously the best way to play Nintendo Switch and the worst way to maintain your spouse’s sexual interest.
When you go to the Amzn link the last pic. Shows a lady in bed using the device but having to hold it as well, so what’s the use beside a giant twist the at best.
@dtwsportsfan I got the stoutest one I could buy – not this one – with a somewhat shorter stem-thingy. And guess what? It won’t support an iPad over your head. They all seem to be designed to be used vertically, not horizontally.
I have this or something similar to it. A few observations…
The clamp is indeed plastic, pretty weak, and shallow. This means it won’t hold on some vertical surfaces.
The arm is some flexible steel-like thing, and is surprisingly hard to bend to how you want it.
That said, that flexy arm doesn’t hold much weight at all. I bought mine to use with my iPad Air 2 (with case)… the arm literally dips about 9-12" when it is placed in the holder, which makes it hard to position it where you want it. (ESPECIALLY when you’re worried the clamp might break when you’re moving it all around.)
I wouldn’t recommend it for anything larger than a phone or Kindle.

Also there isn’t anything to indicate how strong it is or how well it holds its position. I have my doubts it’ll be strong enough to keep from uselessly sagging under the weight of a heavy tablet.

Anyone have experience with these? Can it hold a book? I know…strange question, but my grandmother is getting neck pain from reading and if I could get it to have a book propped up for her, that would be amazing.
I’m so tempted because my wife’s car has a weird headrest (Buick Encore) that won’t fit a car tablet mount. Then I think of the look on her face when I’m opening another box from Meh.
I have a similar item, that I clamped to my headboard, so I could use my phone or tablet while lying in bed. A little fragile, but okay if you’re careful, and don’t overtighten the clamp. Holds my Samsung S9+ fine, though it bounces a little when you touch the phone. The twisty-bendy neck works okay, but you need to grab it in two places to adjust it, and again, a light touch & caution, or it feels like it’ll break. It does hold my S4 tablet, but just barely, and I worry the clamp could break or release with that much weight. Again, the tablet bounces a bit when touched, so it helps to use 2 hands when surfing. I think this device might be best for reading in bed, but only lying on your back…
I recently removed it from the headboard, after seeing it dangle over my head for 200 nights without any usage. YMMV.
I have this and liked it well enough to buy a second one from Amazon. Whatever you put in it will be held in place quite well, but it will shake quite a bit when you touch the screen. If you are using this for something that requires a lot of interaction with the device, I would pass on it.
I think I’m using these with a Fire 7 and a Fire 8 tablet. Unfortunately, the clamp won’t open wide enough to hold the 8 in portrait mode so I have to use that one in landscape mode. Make sure your device will fit before buying, I suspect many Kindles won’t fit in portrait mode.
Given that just now I got an email saying my order had shipped, two days after I already received it, I just wanted to say thank you for living up to your brand name. I appreciate the consistency.

Hate it! Will not stay clamped in place, very hard to bend (since I unbent it completely) so therefore very unstable and wieldy! Thought there might be a little “instruction” besides the pictures on the box… I did not open the 2nd box! What’s the point???
