@conandlibrarian they are ok. I use the speaker on my work bench. It’s great for listening to podcasts. It’s a good speaker to provide some background noise.
I have a slightly bigger version with touch sensitive controls at the front. If this is anything like that one, it sounds great for the size. I have it currently paired with my Echo Dot.
If I didn’t already have a boatload of bluetooth speakers purchased from this place, I’d be in for one. I still have several new in the box – never opened.
I have one of these, purchased from Meh. The sound for the size is quite good. And, the bluetooth connectivity is really outstanding. Better than any other bluetooth speaker I own. Walk into the room, the speaker beeps, and it’s paired with the phone and ready to go. Good value.
Got one of these from MorningSave. Wish it were just a little louder for listening to podcasts. Also, the sound temporarily drops off from time to time, but that could be my old iPad, maybe not the speaker. Nice little size, I’d buy again if there were a white one.
Bem me up!
Funny byline to all the speaker talk but my Amazon “Echo” has very,very good sound for a 9.75 inch by 3" tower … I’m impressed and music on demand sports, news and weather briefs for free is a plus i paid 129 and i am extremely satisfied with no monthly fees involved may i suggest you say hello to “Alexa” in the near future? I think its about 4 watts or so but seems so much stronger, allows me to play Bolero every morning as i’m leaving for work like they to do in Vama Veche Romania … on the beach at sunrise .
@mellowirishgent I worked on a tall ship and the people who rented it for a party for the bicentennial parade of sails in NYC blasted Bolero as we sailed in the parade. Sort of embarrassing considering the event.
@sammydog01 Well i was sucked in by the extras , and the 6 month payment plan on hsn …i did take the 2 year warranty so expect it to be broken before then …wink, full refund …lets just say i’m renting it free for 2 years …
@mellowirishgent That music is not exactly USA patriotic for the bicentennial blasting loud enough the sound carried really far off the ship. Radio traffic mocked us too LOL
I bought two of these last time they were on sale. They sound decent, but one came not being able to charge at all–dies as soon as it is unplugged. As a heads up, this item is discontinued by bem and they do NOT honor the warranty. I informed meh customer support of this last time so I am surprised that they still list it here…
@bfalter I had that problem with other things speakers…I bet the wire from the battery isn’t connected to the plug…take that bitch apart and repair it…but get a refund first
@jamminonthejuan There aren’t exactly easy ways to access the inside. I suppose I could try to take off the rubber bottom… there could be screws there. I did get a refund from meh in the end
@bfalter mine lasts for about 5 minutes once you unplug it. love it otherwise, but it took about 10 charging cycles for it to no longer hold any charge at all
Must be recharged after three hours?
And this is an improvement over wired speakers. . . how?
Sonny, let me 'splain something: the speakers in my living room stereo date back to September 1967. 49 1/2 years ago. Really. I remember the day I got them. I hooked them up to the stereo with wire. That took at least three minutes. They haven’t had to be charged ever since. They each have a woofer and a tweeter and they sound good.
Meanwhile, this “bluetooth” stuff never works right. Even if you do charge it.
@JohnSchubert I still have some wired speakers made by my younger brother’s junior high school friend in his garage and they still sound fantastic - rival many professionally made speakers made by top names.
@JohnSchubert what brand? I had an early set of JBL L 100 studio monitors made in the early 70’s. I bought them used when I was in college in the middle 80’s, to this day still the best speakers ever.
@gak0090 – Oh, Jeepers, I’m ashamed to tell you. They are General Electric, from a crappy dorm room record player. The phono cartridge was junk, the turntable was, like “get ready to rumble,” the amplifier was bad – but the speakers sound okay.
You could ask why I’m not using my KLH 17s or my Lafayettes instead, but I don’t have a good answer. The General Electric ones were just sitting in the basement, ready to pluck and put into action. They’re hooked to a thrift store compact stereo, and the whole rig sounds, actually, pretty darn good.
Any decade now, I’ll get organized and re-establish my good stereo.
@JohnSchubert my brother had a stereo made by Westinghouse, the original American made Westinghouse and it was actually a pretty decent Hi Fi system, probably about a mid level system for the time. I think he still has it somewhere, curious to know what that would be worth.
@gak0090 – My dad was a manager for General Electric. He and his management buds all said that the high fidelity market was too small for GE, so they made cheaper stuff that was good enough. They left the high-end to companies like Fisher, Scott and McIntosh. Good component stereo was very expensive back then, so they may have had a point – but I lamented that we didn’t have really good hi fi in our house.
I believe my profile says i bought 80 items or so from Meh. i would also tell you iv’e bought at least a dozen speakers from Meh. some sucked but were what i considered fair value for the item , some were beyond expectations like the big 2 speaker “GO GROOVE SONA VERSE” was as good at it gets for 20 bucks or so but these 1 Watt speakers are no better then your music at a 1 on the 1 to 10 volume scale These are your dollar store speakers lil bigger then a matchbook but leave it to meh lol 2 fer 6 would have been the correct discount for these lil 1W speakers ok …but can i say meh you guys have been awesome so far this year now put up something i want please Us Meh Heads are speaker and headphone saturated it’s a big turnoff …I would like to see special offers or discounts for frequent flyers of Meh. lets call it the “Century Club” with 100 purchases as a minimum requirement,( that was clever no?) you can thank me later.:)LOL trust this i don’t take myself to serious …
@jahvada Really you have nothing better to do then grade comments here’s one " get a life your way to bored,no one gives a shit if its then or than but you
@mellowirishgent Most of us don’t care that much about eccentric spelling as long as we can understand what the hell the guy is saying without having to reread his damned post.
Ooohhh sweet memories…The first thing I ever gave a meh about enough to purchase. My hunted-reckless-arts are the red headed step sisters to the Bem brothers that are being offered here tonight.
Thank you for your help. I was able to charge one of the speakers last night by using different chargers. The other one is definitely DOA. Let’s see what MEH has to say, I would hate to have to go to the Post Office and stand in line during my lunch hour.
“And that’s still too big to fit into any of our bodily cavities.”
I’m not certain what you’re trying to say here. Are you implying that somebody might try to use them internally? That they might think they’re a gerbil replacement?
Neither of the 2 speakers received will charge, is there a way to do a factory reset to see if the speakers will charge?
The work great connected to the power supply.
Let me know if yours charge. They might arrive with some charge that will let you turn them on. But make sure the red light blinks as per the instructions and turns off when fully charge.
@arosemena if I remember from the red ones, it just stays solid red while charging… I opened one of the ones from this order and it is charging (solid red) will update after it has charged.
@arosemena not sure when it finished but it did charge… so this one and the previous same model in another color, the red light to the right of the usb port is solid while charging and off when fully charged.
Thank you for the info. I was expecting the red light to blink, since the instructions say "The red LED will slowly flash during charging and goes off when it has reached a complete charge."
My red LED does come on and never goes off. After many hours the battery does not charge. Mine is clearly defective.
Enjoy you speaker it has great sound for its size and price. Mine works as long as it is connected to charger.
@arosemena try another charger/cable, or just leave it plugged in for some time. the charger I use is one of those IQ ones so it prob was sending 2.4 amps… if its on a 1 amp usb port it might take some time.
The manual is wrong here too… I just checked and it does indeed say flashing, maybe that’s why we got such a good deal… they might have liquidated the ones with the typo manuals.
These have a 90 day, so if your doing warranty do it quick.
Only opened one so far and it will not take a charge. I have tried several different chargers and even left charging overnight without any change. Red light is on when plugged in. Works plugged but that kills portability.
@jmbunkin If you are using bluetooth adjust the volume on the speaker independently from the phone volume control. I get best results when I set the phone at 90% volume and then adjust the speaker to the volume I want.
Also consider trying it with aux in cable… bluetooth does mangle things on its own.
Just throwing out there a bit late that you can use both speakers together via bluetooth using voicemeter… you need to do some delay tweaking to get it right tho
Have tried to contact BEM about non charging speaker at least twice. I guess as long as they ignore me for 90 days they won’t have to deal with this. One works fine the other will not charge. Sorry BEM but if this is the way you treat customers you won’t be getting any more of my $$$$.
I gave one as a gift. Yes, I am one cheap skinflint. But I kept one and it sounds great paired with my phone so I can hear my cocktail lounge show. https://whupfm.org/show/post-modern-cocktail-hour/ BUT, the longest I can get it to play is about 4 hours/charge, not 8. But at this price, who cares?
ENOUGH already with the fucking speakers!!!
@lisameh tell your friends to stop buying them.
@RedOak I guess I better buy some more speakers.
@lisameh no! If you don’t want the meh buyers filling the warehouse with more, do not!
Can anyone tell me how these sound? I think this might be a nice little speaker to pair with my Dot.
@conandlibrarian I have the slightly larger one they sold last time paired with my Dot and it sounds really good.
@conandlibrarian I have the slightly larger one from a couple of years ago from Meh, and it sounds great, and I use every night.
@conandlibrarian With each cube being 2.25" on each side, it probably has a similar speaker to the dot. Just my opinion based on zero real facts.
@conandlibrarian they’re alright. I’ve had mine for a while and it gets the job done. Louder than anything my phone or notebook are capable of.
@conandlibrarian they are ok. I use the speaker on my work bench. It’s great for listening to podcasts. It’s a good speaker to provide some background noise.
@conandlibrarian The dot’s speaker itself sounds as good these mini cubes. Wait for the larger one to be meh’d out if pairing with Alexa.
@alose You can only use it at night? That’s a deal breaker…
Bem over, please, so we can start the insertion procedure.
But I want to use them internally!
Meh. I have way too many Bluetooth speakers already.
Wow, Bluetooth speakers. Now there’s a surprise. <not>
Wēk!
Your Tuesday write-up was especially disgusting. More, please.
Our home is already carcinogenically loaded with Bluetooth waves.
Do you think these could be hacked to generate perfectly offsetting waves to cancel out the existing waves?
Then we could start buying again!
It would be awesome if there was a place to rest my phone on these.
@norman8 Since it’s already resting up there, it’d be great if it would charge too.
I have several of these. For the size, they sound surprisingly good. And for this price, these sound fantastic.
@cengland0 Sounds like you are ready to start your own daily deal site!
@cengland0 Same here.
@cengland0
Boatload of speakers
You can’t spell “Bem Mini Bluetooth Speakers” without “Noo”.
These are pretty good. I’d buy them if I didn’t have them already.
I have one of these, purchased from Meh. The sound for the size is quite good. And, the bluetooth connectivity is really outstanding. Better than any other bluetooth speaker I own. Walk into the room, the speaker beeps, and it’s paired with the phone and ready to go. Good value.
I told myself I’d stop buying low priced speakers. Instead, I’ll save up and buy one really expensive and awesome center speaker.
@Jcast617 Good luck with that.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga Hi! I missed you!
@sammydog01 howdy. I lurk.
Base…Bass…Basses?
Got one of these from MorningSave. Wish it were just a little louder for listening to podcasts. Also, the sound temporarily drops off from time to time, but that could be my old iPad, maybe not the speaker. Nice little size, I’d buy again if there were a white one.

@KDemo temporarily drops from time to time? Maybe from incoming notifications?
@Jcast617 - You could be right. I’m not so smart about such stuff, but it makes sense.

@mellowirishgent An Amazon Dot plus one of these babies is way cheaper than an Echo. And why would we all be here if we weren’t cheap?
@mellowirishgent I worked on a tall ship and the people who rented it for a party for the bicentennial parade of sails in NYC blasted Bolero as we sailed in the parade. Sort of embarrassing considering the event.

Seriously, dudes, can’t you guys sell anything besides speakers?!?! Sheesh!
@madresanchez well they also sell knives… if you need about 100 of those. And vacs. And ear buds although those are mostly on morning save now.
@madresanchez How about some speakers in some travel mugs?
Where are the cameras?
So where are the nostril speakers? Want some w some reverb.

Ooohhh sweet memories…The first thing I ever gave a meh about enough to purchase. My hunted-reckless-arts are the red headed step sisters to the Bem brothers that are being offered here tonight.
If you take these apart, you might be able to stuff them into a light bulb…
@mtroike hmm…A light bulb with a Bluetooth speaker? I wish somebody would sell a product like that! Put me down for 20!
Totally missed opportunity for some Boom Boom, cause we all about that bass no treble
In for four.

@eeterrific, google Richard Gere.
Shit, I spent $18 on just one of them not too long ago. Knew I should have held out for the inevitable 2-for-Tuesday.
@dynamiklol you probably got the larger 3 inch version
Too bad you can’t lock one in on the left channel and the other on the rigut channel. Yay, monaural sound.
@mike808 Nope! That would cost another $0.25.
@mike808
of course the solution cable bit costs as much as the speaker

you guys “ASK” for a coupon code… what exactly is that, and where does one get it and what good is it ?
@kaweckia I think they’ve come up once or twice to compensate for mistakes having been made.
Are the buttons for this thing… on the bottom?
@steelopus yeah, kind of annoying. but it’s so small you won’t really be bothered picking it up to turn it on
I got one in these in blue from Woot a couple years back. It’s pretty good. Not as good as a Jambox, but worth this price.
Neither of the 2 speakers received will charge, is there a way to do a factory reset to see if the speakers will charge?
The work great connected to the power supply.
@arosemena dang it, now your gonna make me open one to make sure it works
