Bought 2 pairs back in February - one pair never worked (the cable would not plug in to charge them - looked like the input was defective) - the other pair worked great - until one of the earbuds came loose and that was that… yet I’m still considering buying another set.
A good metric for Bluetooth headphones is ‘what do they do when the battery gets low.’ The last Bluetooth headphones I got from Meh have a voice that screams ‘Battery Low’ every 30 seconds when the battery gets to 30 percent.
@brakeforbeer you need to get a set that have the cushy earbuds that are like little marshmallows/expanding earplugs. We moved to a place with a bigger lawn a few years ago and got a riding lawnmower, I got a set like that and they have been a great for me. They’re basically like an earplug / headphone combo.
You could potentially make these ones work if you bought them and swapped out the tips - they sell the foam ones for like $15 on Amazon for a set of 3.
@brakeforbeer When I see people with “regular” earbuds mowing the lawn I imagine how loud the 'buds must be so they can hear over the lawmower. I get a little sad for their hearing loss, even more so when they’re teens
@compunaut Thanks. My reliable Honda HR214 (you can search for it) is going on 30 years, so I’m still doing my part for global warming. A neighbor’s electric (brand unknown) is rather anemic, but I’ll have to replace the Honda at some point. I’d look at a Greenworks, but wouldn’t know what model (I see that they have an 80v, too) that would be comparable in power to my Honda. If you have any input, I’m all ears.
@brakeforbeer@compunaut A good manual reel mower can also be pretty quiet. Mine is not a good reel mower.
I also wouldn’t recommend a reel mower as your only mower unless you have a very small yard.
@brakeforbeer@compunaut I tried the Kobalt battery mower but even with multiple batteries it kept dying before I made it through the whole yard. It was returned and I bought a Honda mower. I do love the battery powered weed wacker, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw that I have.

Cordless battery mowers are pretty sensitive to grass type & grass height, and don’t even think about mowing when it’s wet. I have St. Augustine in the front yard; it’s very popular here in N TX (but might be considered a weed farther north) and a pretty ‘heavy’ plant relative to mowing action. Back yard is Zoysia (long story), a much finer-bladed grass.
The Greenworks 40V w/ 2 new batteries would last thru front & back yards as long as the blades are sharp and the grass isn’t too long. My brother & I bought our mowers a few years back before the 80V model was introduced. He only needs 1 battery for his small lakeside lot of fescue/ryegrass blend in S MI.
My last mower was Black & Decker 24V w/ 2 integrated lead acid batteries. Seemed to have a little more power than the removable Li-ion of the Greenworks, and it felt like the thing would run all day - plenty of margin for my yard. However, it was heavy, and the front yard has a pretty good slope.
TL;DR: Cordless mowers may never have ‘comparable’ power to gas machines, but they can still do a reasonably nice job under the right conditions
I work 10h shifts, the battery in these lasts at least 8h, depending on volume, if you listen to music. Over the ear headphones pretty reliably stay on your ear without discomfort, you can pull the earphone out and leave it hanging on your ear to hear others if they need to interrupt your jam, and they charge pretty fast. If you care about quality audio you shouldn’t be on Meh.

These earbuds have astounding quality (full range of high/low and loud/soft) for their size through it does sound a bit damped. This is honestly typical of any deep in the ear earbuds I have had in the past and isn’t something that cant be adjusted in your device EQ settings. Throughly satisfied with this impulse buy.
These are crappy earphones. Don’t buy them. The ear hooks don’t work for my normal-size ears; they are not adjustable or re-shapeable in any way. The sound is weak. They can be overcharged (!) by leaving them plugged in. I’m not sure I would give these to a friend.

Sorry, but in my experience, it’s impossible to listen to any headphones while mowing the lawn.

I am having the hardest time trying to plug the USB charging cable into the ear bud – it just won’t go in.

@Kevin @NCLivingBrit One of mine had the USB port dislodged in the ear unit, so I pushed it sideways with a knife until the port snapped into place.
First set doesn’t exist as far as my phone knows, charging the second set to see if they work. My cheapo speaker works fine.
