The Medi-Oscars
The train unloaded a single package, heaved onto the platform. Three gunmen watched it carefully, their hands hovering over their pistols, itching to draw. The sun beat down on the land, giving everything a slight shimmer after a certain distance. When nothing happened, the leader motioned for the others to go. The train whistle blared as it began to depart the station.
As the three gathered and moved toward the end of the platform, they stopped. A sudden piercing noise wailed from behind them. The train was already pulling out.
The shortest gripped his long pointed ears in pain. “Ow. The hell is that?”
They slowly turned to face the lone traveler who stood on the opposite side of the tracks, harmonica still pressed to his mouth, coldly staring the trio down. He played the piercing melody again.
The short one, irritated, yelled at him, “Dude, you just couldn’t pick a less annoying instrument to declare your presence, could you?”
